A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

How I spend my day off.

We’re still on the hunt for a car. Eddie made a few phone calls yesterday, and I talked to my dad while I was at work. Unfortunately Dad has no leads on anything in our price range, and we’re trying to avoid going to a dealership because we don’t want to have loan payments and higher insurance payments because we’d need full coverage. We’re hoping to check out something Eddie found on Craigslist tonight after he gets home, and with any luck it’ll be a decent one.

Right now I’ve got 2 virus scanners running on my computer to try and get all the shit that seems to have exploded in my hard drive over the past week or so. I have no idea where all this shit came from, but seemingly overnight everything seemed to go pear-shaped and so I’m trying to rid my pc of all the baddies. So far, it’s a slow process. Once that’s done I’ll head into the bathroom with a bottle of blonde dye for phase one of my monthly application of bright red dye.

I had another class reunion dream the other night; this time the reunion was held in the parking lot at WalMart and everyone sat in lawn chairs. In this dream I hung out with a bunch of people that I actually hung out with in school, and we all were wearing casual clothes, which was much more comfy than the high heels in my other dream.

I stumpled upon this site this morning, and I swear that if we ever end up renewing our vows and having a 2nd wedding ceremony I will be buying a dress from them. They’re gorgeous. And made to my measurements to boot.

End of the Week

Eddie and I are going to a wedding for one of his coworkers tomorrow night. It’s an evening wedding, starting at 5pm, which means we’re not going to be home until late. To celebrate the wedding, we hit Target last night after work, where we proceeded to pick up some new duds for each of us, then to Payless for some shoes. Eddie got himself some new pants, a shirt, and a tie (he looked damned hot with the suit jacket too, but we just couldn’t see shelling out another $60), and I got some fancy new pants, a vest, and a skirt. Eddie claims the pants make me look skinnier; I think they just make me look taller because they’re a bit long, thus making my legs look longer. I’m thinking of going back to Target to return the skirt tomorrow, since it’s longer than I’d like and doesn’t look fantastic on me. I’m debating about the vest since it’s probably not something that I should wear without a shirt on under it, and is slightly on the big side, and I’m not sure how I feel about a black and gray outfit for a wedding. It’s times like these when I wish I knew how to make simple alterations, then I’d make the vest a bit more fitted rather than the blocky way it fits now (that’s the problem problem with big boobs and a smaller tummy, nothing fits right). Either way, we planned on going to mom’s to get ready (or at least stop in and show her how nicely we clean up), so I might get Eddie to stop at the store on the way down. Tonight I’m going to try to hem the pants a little, I just need to find some gray thread.

We finally finished shopping at around 7:30pm and by that point we were hungry (I hadn’t eaten anything more than a handful of cheese-its at lunch and had nothing to drink all day), so we headed homeward and snagged dinner at the Ground Round up the street. The food was decent, as usual, and they had a couple of young guys playing guitar up at the bar area, and they weren’t half-bad. I managed to not eat everything on my plate, so I’ve got some lunch for today.

I have no idea what RPh I’m working with on Sunday. I hope it’s a decent one, shitty pharmacists make the afternoon suck. I’m hoping that I can get a decent one who won’t care if I leave early, since we’re supposed to be going to Mom’s house for dinner. I know I plan on bringing either a book or a bunch of yarn, since I do not want to be subjected to another mindnumbing afternoon of Nascar.

Last monkey post for a few days

Woot! Law & Order premier in 10 minutes! Must finish post before then!

Completely finished! The bride is finished. Eddie brought home a packet of beading needles and I put the beads on the neckline, in the flowers around the veil, and even managed to whip up a tiny pair of “pearl” earrings. I don’t want to give her up, I’m just that pleased with the way she turned out. Eddie brought in a swatch of the gown’s fabric today to show the woman who commissioned it and she loved it, so hopefully she’ll be pleased with how it all turned out. I really wish I could be there to see her face when he brings it in.

Her daughter is the one who got the stepdancer and is supposedly bringing that monkey into dance class this week, which means the possibility of several more stepdancer monkeys to be made. I emailed the woman I buy my socks from to ask if there’s any way that I can get bundle packs of just green and white socks. Hopefully I can find out by Friday.

I’d barely finished the bride when I’d received another commission, this one for a geisha, which should be a lot of fun to make. Friday I’m taking the car because I need to get my birth control filled and get a haircut, so I’ll hit the fabric store and check out some kimono fabrics.

Tomorrow I’m going to make a purse. I’m thinking pink with butterflies. Pictures to come, of course.

[Bride] The gown is recognisable as a gown!

Bridal gownThe monkey’s dress is nearly done, and is coming out much better than I imagined it would. The only thing left is to make the sleeves and sew those on, and sew on the loops for the corset back of the bodice. I haven’t decided if I’m going to trim the lower hem of the bodice in addition to the sleeves yet. I also took a nearly full shot of the dress, and another picture of the detail of the gown and peticoat hems.

Prettiest fabric ever.

I left the house this afternoon expecting to need to go out and find some ivory and gold brocade as backup fabric in case I didn’t get the stuff I ordered on Friday. It turned out I bought from the fastest ebay seller around and received it in this morning’s mail, and it’s gorgeous. Even if it does smell slightly like a shower curtain. So I headed out to the fabric store to buy some trimmings for the gown, then headed to Walmart to pick up Eddie. I bought a bundle of fake flowers and some more fabric for a couple of purses - guess what everyone is getting for Christmas this year?

I guess I should go start working on the dress. I’ve got a lot of work to do.
