A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

Bondage, FFXI, geeky crap, and crafts

This afternoon has just flown past. Eddie got home at around 4:30pm as expected, and found me tied up in bed with a pair of striped knee socks.

Hey, he asked me to do it last night, probably not expecting me to actually be able to do it.

Sadly, I wasn’t to remain tied up for very long because Eddie had a rough day at work and claimed he stunk. From there we hit the shower, then back to the bedroom, yada yada yada, and we had Kraft Dinner as expected.

We also ended up doing something that I didn’t expect to be doing again: reactivated our FFXI accounts. Don’t get me wrong, I loved playing WoW and I loved the fact that you can pretty much accomplish everything on your own, but I missed the comraderie that FFXI pretty much forces players to have because it’s completely party-centric. I’ll miss WoW graphics though - I liked its brighter colors more than FFXI’s stuff, but Eddie brought up an excellent point - the sunsets are so much prettier in FFXI. One good thing came out of all this, we discovered that I didn’t completely fry my video card, it just needed a rest, because I was able to pop that sucker back in and it works just fine. Hurray for big screen resolutions!

Tomorrow, bright and early, we’re going to Mom’s for waffles. Break out the Immodium, I’m going to need it. Mom’s paying for my haircut, and we’ll have lunch/dinner over there and probably a movie as well. I worked on a monkey this afternoon (he’s got arms!) and I’ll work on Nicole’s pink bunny tomorrow, and the rest of the monkey stuff on Sunday. I’ve also got a blue llamma in the works (fuzzy!) and a Hola Gato, which is my own personal version of Hello Kitty.

I’m itching to redo my layout a bit, just to change the color scheme a little I think. Not sure exactly what I’ll do, but it won’t be too much different than what it is right now.

Upgrades Shmupgrades

I’m in the process of updating my Wordpress installation. It’s not fun, since I’m having issues with a plugin and it’s completely pissing me off, and it doesn’t look like the plugin author has any intentions of fixing it (so far). Who knows if it will ever work again or if I’ll need to find a replacement that does the same thing. I also needed to upgrade my Kiwi, since that’s changed on the back end as well, and that was an ordeal that required editing and updating all of my featured posts because the directories for the images was changed.

I give them a lot of credit though, the new admin area is slick.  A lot of bells and whistles that I’m still playing with, but so far it’s pretty neat.

So much happening lately it seems.

Another early morning. I hate these. Thankfully this morning was the last time I need to be up at 4am for a while. I hope I don’t fall asleep during the movie this morning.

Tonight we’re finishing up our shopping. Actually, “finishing up” isn’t quite the correct phrase - it’s more like “starting” our shopping. We know what we’re getting the few that we’re shopping for, and we need to buy some gift bags and wrapping stuffs. I’m not sure, but we also might be picking up some new jammies to continue the tradition we started last year of lounging at mom’s house in jammies all Christmas day.

Saturday we’re going to mom’s for dinner, and Nanny will show Eddie how to make applesauce from scratch to prove that not all of our secret family recipes come off of boxes and cans.

Since I’ve got a 4-day weekend, I’m going to finish up the one last blanket I need to work on, which hopefully won’t take forever and will get done tonight or tomorrow. It shouldn’t, considering that it’s perhaps the simplest thing out there, but I tend to get distracted easily. I did sit down last night for most of the time after I picked up Eddie and worked on the one for Dad. It’s all put together and the border is done, all that’s left to finish is weaving in the ends of the threads of the squares. I did make it slightly smaller than it was supposed to be simply because of time and because it was already pretty big even without the last row of squares on it.

Aside from Christmas, the rest of the weekend will be devoted to upgrading and testing the latest upgrade for Wordpress. There’s already a pretty much final version of WP2.0 floating around, and the official release is on Dec. 26. There’s also an existing version of Kiwi that’s supposed to work with WP2.0, and I’ve got to upgrade things so I know how it all works. I got offered a chance to help work on the next upgrade to the theme, so I figure it’s best to get my hands dirty and start trying to figure out how things work.

Note to self: Email the people about the monkeys this afternoon
