A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

*thump*thump*THUMP*thump*

We went to bed at about 11pm as usual last night, and discovered that the neighbors (or someone else on the the street) had their music up a bit high and the bass was thumping over to our house. However, at 11pm there’s still traffic on our street, and for the most part the bass was drowned out by the sound of people passing by to get to the highway, and I was able to get to sleep.

Unfortunately, 2am rolls around, and I’m awakened by Eddie heaving tremendous sighs and moaning “the bass is driving me crazy.” I’ve got no idea if he’d been awake the entire time, but at that point I couldn’t get back to sleep. We had no idea where the music was coming from, and bass travels so well that it wouldn’t be easy to pinpoint where it was which is probably why it went on for so long without anyone calling the cops on them. I was up until about 4:30am when the bass was finally turned down enough and I no longer wondered whether or not Comrade had built a nightclub in the basement, and finally got to sleep at around 5am. Of course, we get up at 6am, so when the alarm clock went off I went back to sleep. I was hoping that Eddie would stay home, but he went into work as usual while I stayed home and got a couple of hours extra sleep.

Early to rise…

I’ve been up, on and off, since about midnight. Right now I can’t sleep because I’ve got the worst case of heartburn ever.

Eddie made it home ok after about 2 hours of driving. Mind you, we only live about 12 miles from Walmart, so that’s some incredibly slow-moving traffic. A little while after getting home, he put on some dry socks and shoes and we went out to Ground Round for dinner. Thankfully it’s only up the street from us, so we didn’t need to worry about being stuck in more traffic.

Once we got home, we surfed the net some more, and eventually Eddie came out into the living room so he could hear the Chris Rock comedy special better than he could in his room while I messed around with some changes to my image galleries - now the gallery matches the rest of the page. We crawled into bed at about 10:30pm, and I ended up waking up after midnight because Eddie was snoring and I was in that weird half-awake stage of sleep and was dreaming that one of his coworkers was in the room making all the noise.

If the roads are better tomorrow we’re going to try to do a bit of Christmas shopping before going to Mom’s for dinner and watching Dukes of Hazzard, so that should be fun. Anyone wanna place bets on how long my grandmother stays and watches it with us?

I think I’m going to try to get some sleep out here on the couch. G’night folks.

Sleepy Pickle

Pickle and me
While I was sick one night, Eddie pulled out Pickle to let her run around before bedtime like we always do. However, that day she’d been out all day and was exhausted, so when he took her out and handed her to me, she simply snuggled against me and went back to sleep for 15 minutes - unheard of for her hyperactive fuzzy self. After a little while she woke up and jumped around the couch, and then went back to sleep in her cage.

(ignore the black thing on my mouth - there’s something on the camera lens)

Exams, and will it ever stop raining?

I had a horrible sleep last night. Judging by the pain in my jaw, I think I was clenching my teeth/jaw up last night, which could explain why I kept waking up every hour or so. I was up at 5am wondering if I should get out of bed, but I decided not to.

My first exam was at 7:30am, and I was done by about 8am. I decided not to go home, because I figured it would be pointless to drive home (15-20 minutes), sit there for an hour or so, and then drive back up to school for the 2nd exam at 10am. I sat in the car, studied a bit, read some more of my book, and did some work on the geisha’s hair. At 9:30am I was bored and went back into the classroom and socialized. Mr. W asked if I’d dyed my hair because some administrator told me to, but I explained that I’d done it because it was inevitable that it would need to be done anyway. I was able to get a look at my corrected first exam, and aced it with a 97%. The second exam was harder and took me about 40 minutes. I only skipped one answer that I didn’t know (but remembered the answer to as soon as I stepped out of the school’s door), and there were only 2 or 3 that I was unsure of. I predict an 80% at least, but we’ll see what I end up with tomorrow. I ended up leaving school at a little before 11am, right after the 2nd exam, which was nice.

I did some work on my site, adding a new theme (oooh…. pink!) and breaking some plugins, and Eddie’s now searching through some DVDs and screencap sites to find a new header image to make a new theme for him. Pickle came out and played for a while before deciding to go all toddler on me and chew my feet until I put her back in the cage. We went to KFC for dinner because Eddie didn’t get out until 5pm and neither of us wanted to cook.

case of the mondays

Neither of us slept very well last night. Eddie had issues with being either too hot or too cold, and I just had issues. I’ve been up, on and off, since 4am. I’m up early today because I wanted to do a dry run of dropping Eddie off at work and then driving to school, just to make certain that I’d have enough time. School starts at 7:30am, and I got there at about 7am, so I’ve got plenty of time. I didn’t even bother getting dressed, I jut put some jeans on with my jammy top and took off with Eddie.

Things to do today:

  • drive to fabric store to find something good for Bridemonkey and purses
  • find more trim for the monkey
  • research stepdancing again - I’ve got to make a boy monkey this time around.
  • finish upgrading my gallery pages and hopefully not break anything

We spent yesterday at Mom’s - without Pickle. We went out for breakfast then hit Petco to find some ferret toys and to Newbury Comics to check out the CDs and toys. I bought a wallet. It matches my school bag. We got to Mom’s just in time to watch the Patriots suck like nothing has ever sucked before. Granted, they did score 10 points in under 30 seconds, but when your quarterback keeps overthrowing the ball and completely missing the receivers, or on the rare occasion that the ball goes anywhere near a guy’s hands it’s someone from the other team or is dropped, you’re not going to win any ballgames. It was kind of amusing to watch Tom Brady get angrier as the game went on though.
