It’s raining, and doesn’t appear to be letting up anytime soon. Sure, it goes from heavy sprinkles to rain and then back to light sprinkles or so, but it just won’t stop completely. I’m hoping it comes down hard, because then it keeps people inside, and then they won’t come into work. I’m hoping to leave a little early today so that I can make it to dinner on time (we’re going out with the family to celebrate my cousin’s graduation).
I flew off the handle at Eddie yesterday. I have yet to recover from it.
I just heard thunder. Hopefully some rain will cool things off a bit.
The end of the work week is upon us. I get paid today, but unfortunately not via direct deposit. Hopefully next week it will be working. I did end up getting my employee discount cards, however, and gave one to Eddie.
I stopped into Walmart this morning and picked up some yarn for the afghan I’m working on. It’s a creamy white color and a deep red (instead of the pastel pink it was asking for), and aside from just realizing this morning that I’ve been doing a basic stitch completely wrong since I first started, things are shaping up fine. I managed to lose my ATM card at some point between the cash register and the car, so I requested a new one. This sucks because I’ve been lucky enough to avoid being forced to chain my nice 4-digit PIN to a 6-digit one, and I had memorized the card number, expiration, and 3-digit extra code. Now I’ll have to relearn all of that and update all sorts of automatic debits for hosting and FFXI.
Tonight I work until closing. Hopefully it won’t be too crazy in there. It’s supposed to be raining pretty heavily at times this afternoon, and from what I heard about Wednesday, the store was empty due to New Englander’s complete fear of rain. If it’s not busy, I can get out on time. I love getting the 15-20 minutes of OT, but I hate having to drive down to Coventry and not get to Mom’s until 10pm. Yesterday was normal and I think we’d done about 120 scripts by the time I left at 6pm, and it was pretty quiet all afternoon so I doubt they did more than 150 all day. Eddie has to work tomorrow, which gives me the whole afternoon to work on my afghan in the morning and play a bit of FFXI in the afternoon.
Anyone got some ark-building materials? We’re not seeing the sun for the next week.
I did sooooo much better on my Ethics/Law exam than I thought I was going to do - only 2 wrong, giving me a 94%. In fact, my teacher actually thought I’d left one question blank because I didn’t notice it at the bottom of the paper, not because I had no idea what to put for an answer. And now we can play a little game of “Things you can get away with saying in class when your teacher is only a couple of years older than you”:
Mr. W: Masticate is just another word for chewing. *looks at Matt* Masticate, not masterbate!
Matt: Well yeah, it’s not like you’d say “I masterbate in my mouth,” right?
I was going to play some WoW this afternoon, but they’ve extended the maintainance period, so I can’t log in. Damn them. My FFXI domain expired on Sunday, and I was evil and didn’t let anyone know what was happening; the only warning was Eddie posting “the end is nie” on the shoutbox the other day. I’ll have to keep track of what people are posting on the other forums because undoubtedly someone will ask what happened to the site and not know how to contact me. I wasn’t going to renew a domain name that I got for free last year, for a game that I haven’t played in 3 months.
I’m waiting for Pickle to finish eating and get out of her cage so I can clean it out. She’s made herself quite a pile over the past day (normally she gets it cleaned out every other day, because she doesn’t make a huge mess of poo in there). Then I’ll head out to Walmart to pick up Eddie at work. I’m hoping that since he worked an hour overtime yesterday they’ll send him home early laster this week, because I like that sort of thing.
We both have today off. Unfortunately it’s raining, so no flea market for us, which is a good thing in a way because one of my feet decided to swell up after drinking 2 Smirnoff Twisted last night. Note to self: if you’re going to drink, take the allergy/asthma pills in the morning, not with dinner. Swelling’s going down, which is good, and I should be back to normal this afternoon.
Geek Stuff: We stayed up hella late last night playing FFXI because of the day off. Eddie got his monk up to level 35, and I’m about 1.5k away from 36. I really need new armor, the stuff I’m wearing is from 7 levels ago. It’s such a trip for me to look at everything I’ve done in that game, all the levels between all the jobs, and realize that I’m still just barely half-way to the endgame stuff.

Meme Stuff: Sunday Brunch
1) If you have pets, name what pets you have, ages, types, colors, and anything else that you want to describe about your pets. Post pictures if you have them! There’s only 2, Skittles and the immortal newt. Skit’s about 3 or 4, and the newt’s 5. I’ve posted enough pictures of them.
2) What is your dream pet? (That is, what animal would you own if money, state laws, space, allergies, were not an objection?) A serval.
3) Are you a cat or dog person? Is your spouse a cat or dog person? If it is different, does it affect your relationship in any way? We’re both cat people more than dogs. While I don’t mind dogs, Eddie doesn’t like them very much at all.
4) Describe your first pet from childhood that your family owned. Post a picture if you have one. Our first pet that I can definitely remember is Pepe le Pew, a black poodle that was my grandfather’s. The first pet that was mine was Bugsy, a white rabbit my dad bought me for Easter when I was 4. My grandmother was pissed.
5) What is your favorite activity to do with your pets? Give a good funny story about something interesting your pets did, if you have one. Skittles fell asleep in his box last night on his back, under the blanket, with his back legs and tale sticking out of the box onto the floor. He looked like a furry, dead frog. the newts used to tease my mother’s cats when I was living there for a month. The cats would sit on the desk and watch them swim, and if the cats got too close then the newts would swim around even more, like they wanted them to come in and play.
