A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

exhaustion

I’ve been busy. I’ve been working like crazy these past two weeks between working extra hours last week covering A’s shifts and then working closing shifts all this week. Factor in the funeral things and Eddie’s parents’ visit and you’ve got one supremely exhausted chicky. Oh, and add in some fun best described as a “pocket of shit” with yet another family member who is now in the hospital until about Tuesday. Weeeee! We’re having fun now!

birdy on a stickWe went to Mystic Aquarium and played in the “Birds of Petco the Outback” cage they had, where I got to play with lots of little feathered birdies. We also saw a sea lion show and all the other typical aquarium things like jellyfish and sharks and lobsters. Then came the shopping, which I used willpower and didn’t buy anything.

I came home from work on Wednesday afternoon and hung pictures up on the walls. Eddie’s parents brought down some other pictures and a shadowbox, so those got hung up in the living room and in the hallway, mixing up the two families so that there weren’t any rooms that had all my things and all Eddie’s things. Today we went out and bought curtains for our two windows, and hung the ones up in the living room. We’re sitting around watching a House marathon on USA. Eventually I’ll get some good pictures of the place now that most everything has been unpacked and put away and it’s actually starting to look like people live here.

Chaucer and Pickle spend plenty of time chasing each other around. She chases him away from the food dish in the kitchen, and then he chases her off the couch. It’s a win-win situation for the two of them. Every now and then we catch the cat in the cage eating Pickle’s food, and the other day Eddie caught him in there sleeping. He does seem to be getting better with staying away from us while we eat, which is good because I’d hate to have guests over here and have a cat sitting in the center of the dinner table like a flowerpot.

It’s not supposed to be cold in May

Our back door is currently unlocked. In fact, it doesn’t have a lock. It doesn’t even have a fucking doorknob at the moment. Comrade came down this afternoon and painted it, so it’s open and drying for the entire night. This isn’t very fun, because tomorrow neither of us will be home to make sure he doesn’t poke around in here. Adding to the list of assinine bullshit this man has spewed from his mouth is his comment that we waste time on our computers and that we should take a weeklong vacation because he wants to come in and paint the rooms and work on some of the molding in the bathroom. He’s also annoyed that none of our windows had the mysterious serial numbers that he was looking for; the seals in his are leaking and he’s getting condensation between the panes, and I guess he needs the serial numbers for some reason but none of the windows in the house have them. Tough shit for him.

Aside from the Polish invasion today has been pretty normal. It’s been raining so there’s no drive-in plans for us. We drank a pot of coffee then switched to tea because we had no more sugar. Eddie made a pot of Kraft dinner for lunch and we ate that while playing WoW. We’ve finally hit level 40 and gotten our mounts, and we’re actually about halfway to 42 right now. We did a bunch of grinding and questing this afternoon, and maybe we’ll do some more tonight. We went to Pizzeria Uno for dinner, stopped at WalMart to buy some new bulbs for the truck’s head and tail lights and new wipers, then went to Petco to play with the ferrets. I can’t believe how tiny Pickle is compared to the ones they’ve got there. Eddie said that if we were in a new place we’d have taken one of them home with us.

I talked with my Dad this morning. He invited us down for a cookout this week at his house, which is cool. I did tell a tiny lie to him when he asked what I was doing, I told him I’d just gotten out of bed, but didn’t reveal that I was sitting on the toilet. Some things a father just doesn’t need to know.
