I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.
I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.
I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.
Happy Yule to all my fellow Pagan-ish folks. For everyone else, enjoy the fact that after tonight, the days start getting longer again *grin*
I’ve been up for two hours now. Eddie had to go in for 5am again, and since we couldn’t figure out a way to get Nanny’s truck for a couple of days, I’m driving him in early. Thankfully I only need to do it today and tomorrow, since I’ve got Friday off. I’m gonna go shower and wake my ass up a bit and make my hair look normal.
We were supposed to go out and wash clothes today, but neither of us wants to move. we’ll probably be heading out to a yardsale that’s benefiting the RI Pagan Pride Day to check out what they’ve got up for grabs. And I’ll probably finish up some of the sockmonkeys I’ve got sitting around here, and work on Mom’s sock penguin design.
I slept until 10. I think Eddie got out of bed at 8 or so. When I finally crawled out of the bedroom, Eddie volunteered to go to Dunkin Donuts and get coffees for us, so I had an iced latte and no doughnut, because the counter guy didn’t get them.
Later today we’ll be going to Mom’s because we need to help make an ice cream cake for Brian’s birthday. Since Mom’s finger isn’t quite working yet, one of us will need to do it. Next week I need to drive her to the plastic surgeon again (the one she hates), where they will probably argue about how much pain she’s in and whether or not she will get some sort of anesthetic before he pulls her fingernail out.
Yesterday was nice. We drove down to Warwick and checked out the new shop. I liked her old shop better - the atmosphere was less “club-like”. This shop is sort of like Hot Topic, on a much lower budget, with a bookshelf full of pagan books. Granted, they’ve got a nice selection of books on all sorts of pagan-related topics.
Then we headed out to another pagan shop about a mile away. I like that one better - it’s quieter, and cozier. And they’ve got cats. They’ve got a couple of workshops that I’d like to sign up for if I had the cash. Maybe one we get me settled in the new job and get some extra spending cash I’ll sign up for one of them. After hanging around in there for a while, we headed into Cranston to see the new location of one of our favorite store. They’re closing down they’re mall store, since the mall is dead anyway. The new place is much bigger and in a really busy plaza, so they should be fine.
We decided not to head down to Mom’s to do laundry yesterday, instead choosing to sit around the house and play games. We stopped at the store to buy some food for dinner, and headed back home. And now we’re hanging around…. I’m hanging out on the mud, and Eddie’s watching Tremors.
My sunburn is fading. Once it’s faded a bit, I can spray some fake tan crap and even it out, at least until the parade on the 4th, when I’ll get my traditional sunburn that will keep me tan until November.
We’ve had a huge mourning dove on my feeder for the past hour, chasing away all the cute little finches.
After working at this new place for over a month now, and we’ve just gotten around to setting up my voice mail. So now there’s one more thing at my desk that I’m not paid enough to give a shit about. *grin* Someday, when I’ve got money, I’m going to go back to school. Last week some guy told me “happy father’s day”. Um, yeah, whatever. Today, I wasn’t treated to 50 stories of Jt’s grandson; no, today we got to hear all about her son and their quest to find him a nursing home that they both like. Someday I’m going to bring in a couple of dozen pictures of my newts and the fish and force everyone to look at them like they’re my trophy children.
On Saturday, I dragged Eddie into the Silver Dragon so that I could get a new pentacle for my necklace. Since they had some pretty little silver chains as well, I snagged one of those so I didn’t need to make a new necklace. And wouldn’t you know it, the thing fell off the chain yesterday, and is nowhere to be found. Eddie looked around for it in the house today, and I’m going to try to find my other one (that I took off during my last round of job interviews), which is somewhere in my house. Looks like I’ll be doing some hunting this week, unless I feel like shelling out another $20 or so for a new pendant.
Oh well. I think I’m going to go shower. It’s a bit early, but my burn is reaching its itchy stage, and I think the hot water will help out a bit.
