A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

Indiana Jones…

… was fucking fantastic.

Weekend is over

Watched the new Die Hard over the weekend. Loved it. Eddie poked fun at me because I’d never seen the original, so he bought it a couple of weeks ago and we watched it together last week.

Initial thoughts on SciFi network’s Tinman - Fantastic corsets, Alan Cumming rocks, and there’s little tiny bits from the original movie. Naturally, I’m completely pissed off that part 2 is on tomorrow night during the finale of Heroes, which we most definitely won’t be missing.

I’m nearly done with another crocheted hat. I’ll have to post pics and things when I finally finish it.

I’m alone

We decided on Saturday morning that we needed a new AC for the house. We’ve got one, but it was wheezing and gasping its last breath so we took off at 9am and bought a new one. It’s much nicer than the old one, and we figure a helluva lot more energy efficient than the probably 10 year old one we got from my mother a few years ago. Pickle is loving the box from the new one and I stashed a bunch of blankets in there for her to snuggle up in, and Eddie loves the fact that it has a remote to control it. I just like the fact that we stay cool in the living room now.

On Saturday we also went to the drive-in to see the new Pirates movie, which was fantastic. It was just as long as the last one, but it didn’t feel like it dragged like the last one did. We packed up a bunch of snacks and drinks and pillows and a comforter and had a great time sitting in the back of the truck. There was a family beside us that went all out for the night, bringing eye patches, chocolate gold coins, and fake tattoos for the kids. I got a kick out of the fact that none of the graffiti in the bathroom has changed, and it still says “I want to make out with Willy Wonka” in the last stall.

I dropped Eddie off at the airport this morning for his Walmart business trip. I burnt him a couple of CDs to listen to on his flight and his bus ride, and he’s armed with some books and the digital camera as well. I’m already lonely here in the empty house. I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself for the next 4 days without him, I’ll probably end up talking to myself and Pickle and crocheting like mad. I already threatened to go play in the battlegrounds in WoW to avoid getting ahead of him in levels, but then he pointed out that you get exp in there as well, so he shot that idea down. I plan on taking Pickle to my Mom’s tomorrow and scoring a free meal while down there, providing I can pick up a small carrier today so I don’t need to hold a wriggling ferret while driving. The holiday yesterday made this week’s work schedule kick ass, since I worked a few hours on Sunday, 3 hours yesterday, I’ve got my short shift today and then tomorrow off completely. Thursday and Friday shouldn’t be too bad, and then I’ve got Saturday off and I pick up Eddie at 9:30pm.

I’ve got to figure out what I’m going to buy Eddie for his birthday, which is Friday. I’ll more than likely do my usual random assortment of oddball gifts that he’ll love but would never buy for himself. This morning we renewed his domain name because it was going to expire, so that’s all taken care of for another year. I have a feeling I know what my mother is going to buy him, so I’ll may have another few ideas to add to my list after tomorrow.

Eddie just tongue-kissed the ferret.

The weekend was nice and relaxing. Any weekend where we can stay in bed an extra hour or three and hang out in the living room playing WoW all afternoon is a good weekend in my book. We crawled out of bed at about 9am and drank coffee and played a bit of WoW, finally making it to level 37. I broke the 300 gold mark on my character, which makes me quite happy; I’m all set in 3 levels to buy my mount and then keep saving for gear, skills, and other assorted neccessities in the game. Like another pet slot so that I can tame a giraffe. I’m also in dire need of another bank slot because I’m a freaking pack rat with a bankful of things that I can’t use at all right now, but might be able to get use out of later. Another thing that I can’t wait to do is hit level 40 and do my crafting quest.

We went to the drive-in on Saturday night. We left the house and drove up to Cumberland to get big sandwiches, cash, and some snacks. We brought lawn chairs to sit in, but ended up just folding down the back seats of the truck and curling up in the back with pillows and a blanket. It was super comfy, which completely made up for the fact that Spiderman 3 bit the big one. It was way too long, drawn out, and I’m sorry, but I’d could have done without the wrestling with the personal demons thought the whole thing. None of the villains were very good, and the Gwen character was really, really pointless. And what Spiderman movie would be completely without Kirsten Dunst dangling from the air? They may as well just start titling the rest of the series Mary Jane vs. Gravity 4. The second half of the double feature was Ghostrider, which we left 45 minutes into because we’d seen it before, and it wasn’t much better on the big screen (we’d already seen a pirated copy on DVD).

Yesterday we went to Mom’s house. I had hot wings for lunch, read my book, and then picked up Eddie from work. We rented Deja Vu over there which was sooooo much better than everything else we’d seen over the weekend. Today we both worked, and we were both busy, so we’re eating sausage sandwiches for dinner and then going into the bedroom to watch TV for the rest of the night like the lazy slobs we are :)

Things to post, places to go

Eddie and I are going to take advantage of the nice weather this week and going to the drive-in tomorrow night to catch a showing of Spiderman 3. The 2nd half of the double feature is Ghostrider, which we’ve already seen, so who knows if we’ll sit through it or leave after the first movie. I think it depends on the weather and how chilly it gets after dark. They’ve raised the prices at the drive-in this year, from $17 to $20, but I’ll gladly eat that $3 to be able to see a movie without having to deal with some families that drag 3 little kids and a crying baby to a late night showing of a new movie. It bites having to get there early in order to get a decent spot, but I’ll bring some yarn to crochet something or my book to read and we’ll be just fine. We’re going to bring our chairs and some good snacks and drinks to keep ourselves fed and avoid the costs of concession stand food.

Poor Nanny is starting to feel the effects of the chemo. She’s on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster from what I’ve heard, crying at the drop of a hat, and has been hit with the notorious chemo-induced nausea. She’s got no appetite. Add to the mix a nasty ongoing headache that she’s had in varying severities since before her diagnoses and you’ve got one miserable grandmother. Mom’s coworkers were talking about how Nanny should either talk to her doctor about prescribing her some Marinol or just buy her some pot (buying the pot is probably cheaper and easier, in my opinion).

Work has been incredibly slow this week. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that it’s been sunny and warm out that’s keeping folks out of the pharmacy, or if they all showed up after I skipped out on Sunday afternoon, but last night I got out an hour early, Angela took off about 2 hours earlier, and we were standing around doing nothing for the majority of the time we were there. It’s the beginning of the month; I find it very hard to believe that the hoardes of elderly don’t need their heart meds.
