A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

Cameras Rock

I’ve noticed that the more that I’ve used my current camera, the worse the pictures are. Photos taken when I first got are crisp and clear, while those that have been taken this year are terrible. It’s not a matter of lens cleanliness, it seems to be that unless I’ve got the camera on a tripod and on a timer I’ll get a blurry photo. In other words, if I’m touching the camera in way way, I’ll need to take about 15 shots of the same thing in order to get just 1 that is a good, clear photo. In fact, if I even think about touching the camera, my camera will take a blurry photo out of spite.

This week I was debating about the tattoo fund, and how I really had no idea what I wanted to do with my half of the money. Did I want to get my chest worked on, did I want to get something else done? And since I’m completely undecided, I decided to do something in a different direction, and get myself a new camera. I’d done some research on the one that I wanted, loved the fact that it had something like 18 pages worth of user photos to look at in the reviews, and when I got to Amazon to order it, I discovered that in the last year there had been a new model of it released, which was currently on sale for about $100 cheaper than the one that I’d researched. Which is why on Thursday afternoon I will be racing home to play with it, like a kid on Christmas morning.

Monday Mindbump

Today’s Mindbump is from Danos Homes:

“If you were awarded a large sum of cash for home improvements, what kind of project would you tackle first?”

I’d rip out ever single bit of flooring down here and seal this place up tight. The last thing you want to do in the middle of the night after stumbling into the bathroom is step on a tile and get wet feet. Then I’d make the bathroom bigger. The rest of the money can go to Mom to do her side of the house :)

Happy Humpday

The heat wave has finally broken, and we’re all rather comfy at 77°F at the moment. We’re still running around half-naked and Eddie is eating freeze-pops as though they will be banned sometime tomorrow, but thankfully the animals aren’t dying of the heat/humidity any longer. With any luck, the next time weather like that rolls back in, we’ll be in the new place with the a/c.

Eddie spoke to the office yesterday and confirmed that we won’t need to pay our last month’s rent, which gives us an extra $750 in the bank, which will be put towards the truck’s repairs and getting the rest of the new place finished off. With any luck this week we’ll be able to actually finish the bedroom, providing that we can get the storage totes out of there so that we can actually get to all of the walls. I also want to get the cabinets doors finished off. I know that I’ve been posting about those damned cabinets for 4 weeks now, but this time I mean it - I will be buying knobs and putting up the doors this week.

Aside from working on the new place there’s not a helluva lot happening this weekend. We’ll be going to the movies on Friday, and hopefully playing some WoW on Saturday night and since I decided to grab myself a level 19 Ghost Saber which I’ve managed to get to level 41 (out of 70 remember) I know what I’ll be doing on Sunday.

I’ll take “Decisions, Decisions” for $200, Alex.

I have an extra $200 check in my pocket, a graduation gift from my Dad. The question is, do I put it towards something needed, like new shoes and/or more work clothes, or do I put it towards something completely fun and frivolous?

If I put it towards the fun stuff, what do you suggest?

Tell me why? I don’t like Mondays…

It’s the middle of the month, and we actually have some money. I’m going to toss an extra $50 towards both utilities and then put the extra in the savings account so we can start building up some cash for the deposit on the next place. I don’t want to live here any longer than we need to, but shit is just so expensive right now that we can’t afford to move out because even if we did have enough for the security deposit, the rents are higher than we can easily afford.

I took a break from playing FFXI at the beginning of the month, not really feeling the urge to log in even on the nights when I said that I was going to. I tried to log in earlier this week, but they were doing some maintanance and couldn’t get on so I held off and tried this morning, only to discover that my computer supposedly isn’t up to par and I can’t get in. Mind you, nothing has changed on my computer at all, so I’ve got no idea why it’s doing this. Oddly enough, I’m not all that upset about it. I have some good friends on FFXI, but I miss being able to play with Eddie and a lot of the people who made MMO gaming fun to me. Whether or not I pack up FFXI and switch to WoW (where everyone else is right now) is still up in the air; unless I decide to uninstall Poser and the 4gig of figures and textures I’ve got for that sort of thing, the two games can’t coexist on my computer. FFXI is currently sucking up about 16gig of space on the computer, leaving barely enough room for anything else.

Time to shower and get dressed. 8 hour of work and I’ll be back home, where I can continue to debate over video games.
