A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

Hot Time in the City

It’s been too hot lately. It’s crazy-hot. It sucks. We have the a/c in the spare room and the door to the kitchen blocked off with a sheet, and it’s still around 80F in the living room (normally it’s around 70F). It feels like half of the a/c has died on us, which is to be expected since it’s about 6 years old.

The wedding we went to last weekend was pretty fun. I did the Electric Slide, and drank a couple of alcoholic beverages. The table we sat at was made up of WalMart people, most of whom also play WoW, so we all sat there dorking it up for the most part. The happy couple, who met on WoW, arranged to have the announcement of the bridal party done with the WoW theme playing. A good night for all involved.

I left work 2 hours early on Sunday because it was completely dead and I was working with a RPh that I just can’t stand. Had there been any other one on duty that day I would have stuck around regardless of how un-busy it was (hell, getting Sunday pay for doing nothing? I’ll take it.), but I honestly can’t stand the pretentious asshole. The rest of this work week has just flown by.

My video card seems to be dying a slow and painful death. Every now and then my whole screen will go fuzzy, like someone’s taken a screenshot and applied a 2px Gaussian blur filter to it. It sucks. Logging into FFXI is completely pointless, because the graphics are unbelievably choppy for me now (WoW works fine though). Speaking of WoW, I just spent the last 3 days working on the guild’s website, the plans for which were laid down at the wedding, naturally. After several complete cockups (such as me using the wrong character name a few times), it’s running fine.

I’ve had an assortment of morons chat me up this week. So far, this is my favorite, which starts right after he started requesting the I log into MSN and add him so I could watch his cam (a favorite way for the guys trolling a particular non-adult camsite to bypass the “no adult” content rule):

saadsaad :: adame.d@menara.ma
saadsaad :: i watch u now [Look! Up in the sky! It's Captain Obvious!]
silvadel :: I know you are, because you’re chatting with me.
saadsaad :: add me and block me if u don’t like it
silvadel :: Um, no. Like I said, I don’t watch cams. I have no desire to add you just to look at you. [Waste of my time]
silvadel :: Deal with it.
saadsaad :: okay
saadsaad :: u are so sexy i see ure pic in ure website [I'm sure he's referring to the 4 year old webcam archives]
silvadel :: Yes, so what?
saadsaad :: u excite me
saadsaad :: add me plz
silvadel :: No.
saadsaad :: :o(
saadsaad :: plz [Desperate much?]
silvadel :: No.
saadsaad :: plz plz plz plz plz [Super desperate apparently]
silvadel :: No.
saadsaad :: i have a big one
silvadel :: I don’t care. I’ve seen cocks before.
saadsaad :: but u never seen like mine [Good lord! A massive cock! I'll never be able to control myself!]
silvadel :: Listen you stupid fucker, I don’t watch webcams. Get over it.
saadsaad :: i want to fuck u bitch [Yeah, that's a line that will make the girls swoon!]
silvadel :: If I want sex, I can get it just fine.
saadsaad :: okay

Rent gets paid this week, and once we see how much money we’ve got, we’ll determine whether or not we’ll be buying anniversary presents next week or the week after (anniversary is next Thursday). Eddie still has no idea what to get me; in my opinion, as long as it’s not any more jewelry (which I most likely won’t wear) anything would be fine. He did make a reference to setting me loose in a Sanrio store, but alas, there isn’t one nearby.

Enough already!

It is really too fucking hot today. Even with the a/c on high in the spare room and all the windows in here closed, this room isn’t getting as cool as it has been.

Let the Sun Shine In

Forecast

It’s getting way too hot lately. Hopefully it doesn’t last too long, but it seems like it’s just going to get worse as the weekend/next week progresses. This means that we’re going to be miserably sticky, which sucks. Pickle might end up moved into the other room where it’s much cooler. We’ll have to see how things go and whether or not the a/c keeps the 2 rooms cool.

I signed up for my medical coverage last night. Hopefully at the same time it goes into effect my raise will kick in. I don’t expect the raise to offset the coverage entirely (impossible when the medical is about $45/week for the two of us), but it won’t hurt in the least. It goes into effect August 20th, and Eddie is positively thrilled at the prospect of getting new glasses, and I’m looking forward to going to the doctors and finding out about getting my tubes tied and possibly getting my ass medicated (birth control until I can get something more permanent done, antidepressant/anxiety). Such fun!

I think I’m going to have some peaches and tuna in a pita for lunch today. Eddie told me I can’t open the canned pears we bought last night until I finish the peaches in the fridge.

As a bit of a warning, those of you who read my site (the actual site, not the Livejournal or the RSS feed) might notice that stuff goes crazy later this evening. I’m testing out some new code, but it won’t have any effect until later tonight because it’s time-based. Unfortunately it should be going live about 2 hours before I get out of work, so I won’t get to troubleshoot things until I pick up Eddie and get back home.

Friday I’m in love.

It’s hot and muggy around here, and it’s not at all comfortable weather. We had thunderstorms last night, which didn’t make things much better, but were certainly pretty to watch on the way home from Eddie’s birthday dinner at my mother’s house.

I was getting ready for work yesterday and debating about what shoes to wear. I thought to myself, Thursdays shouldn’t be that busy, I’ll wear my clogs instead of my sneakers. I neglected to consider that it was the first of the month and that every single old person in the area would be coming in for their meds. As an example of how busy it was, our store opens at 9am usually does about 150 scripts a day. By 11:30am we’d filled 70, and by 12:30 we’d filled about 95. I have no idea how many we ended up filling before I left, but my feet were quite sore. However, to cheer up the work crew, I’m bringing some of Eddie’s leftover birthday cake to enjoy.

Tomorrow we’ve both got the day off, and we don’t quite know what we’re going to do. It doesn’t look like it will be good drive-in weather, so Eddie said he wanted to catch a matinee. I also want to stop at Walmart to check out some yarn for an afghan I’ll be making this month. Yes, you read that right, I’m making an afghan in the middle of summer. I’m insane.

Oh those emo boys…

Emo boys kissing - I like angsty little emo boys. Two are even better. Make them kiss and I just might not leave the house today.
