A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

We need some good luck over here!

It’s chaotic for us right now. Sunday night my grandmother fell in her kitchen and wasn’t able to get up, nor was she able to get our attention very quickly since we had the surround sound on and were watching a movie upstairs in Mom’s house. She managed to grab one of the cat’s food bowls and bang it long enough for Mom to go down there and help her out. Then yesterday she ended up being hospitalized because she’s been having shortness of breath and is in a lot of pain. Things were looking bad enough where Eddie and I left work early the whole family ended up crowded into one of the little rooms in the ER unit. She was admitted around suppertime and is still there until they figure out exactly what the problems are. Any and all good vibes sent her way would be appreciated.

This morning we had an appointment to go check out an apartment down in Warwick, in a complex that I lived in for about 7 years. It’s a 1-bedroom place, but it’s nice, quiet, close to Eddie’s work (he could ride in with Mom every day). Pets are ok to have, which makes me squee with delight as well. We filled out the application and put down a deposit, and with any luck we’ll get a phone call telling us we’re all set. At that point we’d be moving in next week sometime, and taping the keys to this place on the door with a note that says we’re gone. Eddie already has already planned out the living room floorplan, since we’ve long since agreed that he can decorate the living room and I’m free to bedeck the bathroom in Hello Kitty things.

Monday Crap

April FoolI took advantage of last Saturday to spend a little time updating the WoW guild’s website for April Fools Day with a pretty pink Hello Kitty layout. I must have sat there at my desk giggling for an hour while I did it.

We’re still carless. We’re using my mom’s beast Durango for now, and we’re hoping that either my dad can find something cheap and reliable or that he’s willing to help look at ones that we find elsewhere. Eddie’s looking at Craigslist right now.

Work was slow last week, but picked up a helluva lot today because it’s the beginning of the month and a Monday. Last week I displayed a prime example of my mouth running faster than my brain when a customer was joking about how we were going to empty his wallet when he picked up his meds. I rang up his 3 scripts and gave him the total of about $75, and he said something like, “Oh, I felt that coming….” to which I replied, “Sorry, maybe next time we’ll buy you dinner first.” Thankfully he’s a totally laid back guy and just laughed like it was the funniest thing he’d heard all week.

I’ve been having crazily fucked up dreams lately. Last weekend I had a dream that I went to my 10-year high school reunion, which was a weeklong party held in a frat house on the URI campus. Rather than having sit-down or buffet style dinners, the food reminded me a lot of the stuff we had in high school. To get to the party, we needed to take the ferry, and I rear-ended Chris Chester’s car on the dock. I was also incredibly confident and looked smokin’ hot in my cute little babydoll dress and heels, until I nearly fell down the stairs and knocked a beer out of a classmate’s (Brian Schneider, I think) hand.

Tomorrow I go into work late, and Eddie has the day off. I’m hoping for much snuggling and to finish a bit of crochet I started last week. WoW will be down for most of the day, so no playing that all day like we did on Saturday. It’s also Dad’s birthday, so I’ll be calling him at some point to rub in how old he’s getting.

It’s getting hot in here.

The other night I was dreaming that Eddie worked in the pharmacy with us, putting bottles of medication back on the shelves after we filled the prescriptions. In this dream he’d sample the drugs at random points, and we finally had to send him away after he sampled the Viagra, because we all knew what was going to happen. Last night I had a dream I got a full sleeve tattoo of Hello Kitty. It was completely gorgeous and I was the envy of every Hello Kitty fan in the world.

Pickle chased an ant across the living room floor today. It wasn’t a big one, but it wasn’t one of the tiny ones either. Somehow they’re getting into the house, probably from whatever hole the little flies are getting in through (although the flies aren’t nearly as bad as last year’s batch of them), and it’s not like we can spray anything along the floorboards because Pickle will end up eating it. She tried to eat the ant, but I think it tickled her nose because she sneezed and seemed to be content with just following it from then on.

Eddie and I have been home all day. Tuesdays are my short days at work and I don’t go in until 4pm. I left work yesterday afternoon tired and sore. I neglected to replace the insole in one of my sneakers after Pickle took it out the other day, and I felt as though my entire body was out of whack when we finally got home. Eddie grilled up some burgers for us, and says he’ll have dinner ready when I get home at about after 9pm tonight. He also cooked up some Kraft Dinner for our lunch this afternoon. I love my husband.

This week has been strange at work. Sunday we had a couple of calls from people wanting Plan B over the counter, and while it is possible for a RPh to get certified to write scripts for it on a walk-in basis, neither of ours has done so. We also have about 4 people come in and ask where the pregnancy tests were. I was discussing this with one of the other techs yesterday and someone came up and asked where they were. I think it’s something in the air.
