I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.
I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.
I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.
We all left class early today. Our teacher lost her voice overnight and couldn’t teach today, so she set us up with a long chapter about alternative medicine, some questions, and then sent us into one of the computer rooms to reasearch a specific form of alternative medicine to give a short oral presentation about on Monday. By the time me and the other Crystal left at 11am there were only 2 people sticking around, and most folks had taken off by 10am (we stuck around to surf Ebay for a little while, since she doesn’t have a pc at home).
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, which means there will be the annual posting on one of the pagan email lists about how Thanksgiving was an exploitation of the Native Americans. The same thing gets posted on Columbus day as well. We’ll be going to my uncle’s house for dinner, as usual. and once we’ve stuffed ourselves full of turkey and cake and pie and Cool Whip, Brian will sit on the couch and as my mother, “So what’s for dinner?”
I started making another cat-hat last night out of a chunkier yarn that’s cream, tan, light green, and dark purple. The ears will be done with light blue rather than the baby-pink I did with my hat. I’ve also got an assload of chocolate brown chunky yarn from one of the afghans that I did, as well as an even bigger assload of ruby-red with purple accents from an afghan that didn’t get made as planned. While looking on Ebay today I saw a lot of fleece toques like the one I crocheted up last weekend selling for like $25-$30, but I think that the fleece would get a bit too warm for my taste, so I don’t plan on making one for myself. If I make a few and sold them, I don’t think I’d charge quite as much either.
Ah….. I love my internet. We’re back online and have cable once again. It’s nice. Of course, it completely sucks having no money to actually do anything other than pay bills.
When I was last online I was getting ready to post about how I passed my Dosage II midterm with a 93%. Unfortunately I forgot to hit the “post” button and the entry never ended up online. I took my final for that course yesterday, but haven’t gotten a grade yet because I’ve got a new teacher for my Ethics/Morality class (not to be confused with my Ethics/Law class from my first course).
Eddie’s mom arrived and departed without any problems other than a search of her bags after she got her boarding pass (the offending jar of preserves was marked as “ok” and everything was repacked).
I was sick for a while. It started as your typical sneezing/sinus/head cold thing and then proceeded to be a nasty chest cold that left me coughing all the time. I ended up camped out on the couch for about a week, which was fine with me because A) it’s hella comfy, and B) my period showed up a week earlier than expected, so I didn’t miss much action in the bed. I’m back in bed now, and have been since the weekend. It’s much nicer to snuggle with Eddie than it is to camp out in the loveseat, no matter how comfy it is.
I finished the afghan I was working on. It’s missing two panels because everytime I’d finish one and count, I’d still need two more to be made. I blame the local union of crochet gnomes, who must have come into my house at night and taken the extra panels out; it’s the only logical explaination. I also did one other afghan that came out really snuggly and comfy. Both are at my mother’s while I work on other crafty things for the holidays.
Speaking of crafty things, I made a kitty hat that came out supercute, even if the ears aren’t quite as cat-like as I wanted them to be (but I know the next one will be better). However, considering that I had no pattern to go by (and quite happily managed to figure it out on my own, without a pattern), I think that it turned out pretty well. Eddie likes it, and announced yesterday afternoon “I’m going to do you with the kitty hat on”. I’ll probably start making another one later this week if I don’t start anything else in the meantime. It’s highly doubtful I’ll start anything since we’re flat-broke, rent is due in a couple of weeks, and there’s some bills that need to be worked on.
Pickle is being a typical ferret. We brought her to my mother’s one day and put up a gate in the hallway so she’d have some space to be running around, and she decided that was the perfect time to figure out how to climb up and over the gate. Eddie’s mother bought us a nice petcarrier so we can bring her to mom’s more often.
Eddie is working overtime this week, which will help our bank account out a lot. Last week he lost 2 hours because I’d left the headlights on and drained the car battery, and he had to come up and give me a jump after school. That was an event - the battery in the car died, and the battery in my phone died after a few frantic text messages to Eddie, and then after pulling everything out of the trunk we discovered neither of us had jumper cables, so we needed to buy some at the Target across the parking lot.
