A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

Glass Crafts, Guild Fun

Sea Glass Pendants
It’s another lazy weekend here for us. Eddie is at work, I’m surfing the web, the usual Sunday activities. I’ve got to go out and get rent out, and I might stop for some Taco Bell while I’m out and about.

Friday at around 11pm I got it into my head that I wanted to go through the lamp full of beach glass that I think is nice, but tacky as all hell. I want to take some of the big pieces out and put them into glass jars with lights in them and make something interesting, but the smaller ones I’ve been wrapping with wire and using as pendants, possibly up for sale in the future.

And as a note to anyone wondering, 5lbs of beach glass makes more noise than you’d expect when pouring it out of a container.

Yesterday, Mom and I were going to get our hair cut. Mom had ended up calling ahead and getting me an appointment to get it dyed as well, so I’m now a redhead once again. I got it cut shorter as well, and it will look cute once I can work it the way that I like it. Yay for red hair!

I hate to say it since my former guild was such a fantastic group of people, but the new guild we’re in completely rocks. Eddie and I have gotten to do more in the 2 weeks with them than we’d done in the last 6 months with the other guys. I didn’t suck too badly in our Kara run the other night, and I also managed to get 3 new pieces of gear out of the deal. So it was with a bit of pleasure that when Eddie and I were invited along for the old guild’s attempt at Kara the other night, we could say “No thanks, we’ve already gone this week and can’t.” They never did manage to get enough people to do it.

Red-Headed Geek-Wife

redheadBy popular demand, a picture of my lovely red hair (and another view of it). What you can’t see are my red-tinted hands from touching it this morning. No comments on how red it is from anyone at work, but then again I don’t think it’s quite as bright under the lights at work as it is out in the daylight.

Eddie’s anniversary present got here this morning. He ran outside in a towel to get it, opened it, and my god, if you ever want to hear a 29-year old man squeal with delight, buy him an original Nintendo Entertainment System. He didn’t even bother putting clothes on, he just ran into the living room completely naked and proceeded to pull everything out of the box and set it up. I ended up getting him a complete system (game system, 2 controllers, gun, and the Super Mario/Duck Hunt cartridge) plus a Legend of Zelda gold cartridge. The gun wasn’t shipped with the rest of the stuff, but is on the way. I think I’m officially the coolest geek-wife ever.

I should eat. Before Eddie left for work, the last thing he told me was “don’t forget to eat something.” That was about 6 hours ago. I haven’t eaten yet, but I did have a 2nd cup of coffee.

Riddle me this

So, guess who has to go to the pharmacy to fill out a stack of paperwork for a new job tomorrow?

Yeah, that’d be me.

While I’m not pleased with the hours (all over the fucking place) or the location (in Mass), I’ll deal with it because money is money.

The big question is, do they freak about my hair or not (it wasn not this red when I interviewed last week).

Oh joy

Trisha the PigSo, guess who received 4 new pattern books in the mail the other day and whipped up a pig in a couple of hours? He’s for sale at the moment.

Eddie and I have had a near-perfect day home today. He got to sleep in; I got up early because he was snoring. We showered and headed down to Warwick to the store I was in because I needed to get my final evaluation picked up. Of course, the pharmacist who was doing the eval hadn’t done it yet, which may as well just completely fuck me over. She tells me she only heard about it on Wednesday. That’s all well and good, but seeing how this is Friday, it just goes to show how seriously they took this whole experience.

From Warwick we drive up to Lincoln, where I sit around for 15 minutes waiting for the coordinator to finish up with the student she had in her office. I’m thinking I’ll just hand over the timesheets, explain the eval is on its way, and be done with the whole thing. No, unfortunately I’ve got a 3-page survey to fill out detailing my thoughts on the course and the externship, and then sitting for another 15 minutes while she tried to straighten out several other students’ problems. I finish, give it to her, and she’s on her way out to do something else, and shuffles me off to one of the women who handles all the job placement assistance, who wants to update my resume with the externship.

“Now, what sort of skills did you learn while on the job?” she asks while openning up my resume.

“I ran a register and counted pills.”

“You can’t put ‘counted pills’ on the resume. There must be a technical term for it. Prescription processing? Dosage calculation?”

“It’s not processing because that might imply data entry, which I did for a whole 90 minutes over the course of 6 weeks. And it’s not calculation because I get the label, look at the number printed beside ‘Quantity’ and just count the right amount.” We ended up leaving about an hour after we got there, got lunch, and came home.

Tomorrow Eddie is going to work, and I’m going to Mom’s house, because the women-folk are heading to Riverside to get our hair done. The woman who cuts mine said that she might dye it for free as a graduation gift, so we’ll see what happens.

Poor me.

Nothing happening in Casa McBride tonight. I paid my tuition yesterday, leaving us with a whopping $50 in the bank, $15 of which will probably disappear this weekend should one of our subscriptions for WoW come out of the account. We’ll be eating Kraft Dinner, cereal, and suop for a week, it seems.

Eddie should be home in about an hour or so at the most. I think we’re having mac & cheese for dinner, with vodka and coke. Tomorrow we’re going to my mother’s, because we’re going to break in the waffle iron Eddie gave her for Christmas, and then I’m going to get my hair cut providing that someone can pay for me since I can’t even afford to drop $10 on a trim.
