A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

It’s Christmas Eve Eve!

I planned on sleeping late, driving the 30 minutes to work to stretch 90 minutes of doing the order into 3 hours, and then come back home and work on some last minute gifts before going to pick up Eddie. It turned out that the order date has changed because of the holiday and no one knew it, so it will get worked on tomorrow when I go in. I ended up picking up a few extra gifts and some gift bags and came home. With any luck there won’t be much traffic through the store tomorrow and I’ll get to take off early. Eddie will be getting out a little later tomorrow, scoring some extra hours with the last minute shoppers at his store. We get to open one present tomorrow night, a tradition he brought down when we got together, and then the rest of the gifts are for Christmas morning.

We saw my dad while we were out shopping yesterday afternoon. His first remark to me was something along the lines of “again with the tattoos!” when he saw my roses, he hasn’t seen the full chest piece and probably won’t until summertime. We’ll be going over there on Christmas morning to open presents before we go to Mom’s house, something that’s never been done before, which should be interesting to say the least. Then it’s off to Mom’s house to have Christmas dinner over there with the rest of the family.

I need gift ideas.

There’s only 7 more days until Christmas, which means I’m counting down the days until I can stop listening to the horrible music at work. It wouldn’t be so bad if it was Christmas songs mixed with the regular fare, but it’s nonstop Christmas and it’s driving us all crazy. Work’s been crazy so far this week. We’ve fielded several complaints about the Saturday RPh, managed to get things in stock that we actually needed, and we’ve finally caught up with the crapload of work that was leftover from the snowy weekend, and hopefully within the next few days things settle down back to normal.

I guess that on Saturday we’ll be doing our shopping, and I have no idea what I’m going to buy Eddie. Usually I do my shopping for him online, but this year has been so hectic that I haven’t had a chance to do it. Not to mention that I really don’t have any clue as to what I’m going to get for him.

Pickle and Chaucer are insane. I’d just taken the ferret out of the cage this morning after Eddie got me up, and she’s doing her just-woke-up stretches on the floor when the cat jumps on her and throws her down on her back. I wasn’t even completely dressed and they’re wrestling all over the hallway. Crazy-ass animals.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Christmas wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. My sister surprised me by deciding that she was completely sick and tired of the whole bullshit between me and Dad, so she called him up, told him she was bringing me over whether he liked the idea or not, and told me we were leaving to go to Dad’s because he was expecting us over there. So I put some clothes on and told Eddie to put shoes on and we went over there for about 45 minutes and had a nice visit and exchanged phone numbers.

I also ended up getting a few new sets of comfy weekend clothes and some jammies, some bigass slippers that look like turtles, a glass paperweight (with a tiny turtle inside), and a new sewing machine (woot! An instruction manual that doesn’t start with “Dear Homemaker!”). Eddie’s parents and Nanny pitched in and bought us a new microwave to replace the one that I’ve had since my days at URI. Eddie got a bunch of Star Wars/M&M M-Pire figures and a Darth Tator and some assorted doo-dads that I can’t remember offhand. We brought Pickle over to Mom’s, and she enjoyed a fun-filled day of playing in the hallway the entire time. Even the fuzzy got a present - 20ft of dryer exhaust tube to climb through. We had it wrapped around the TV, but it wasn’t steady, isn’t sturdy, and it was making an assload of noise so we pulled it out and wrapped it around the coffee table.

Unfortunately, Eddie had to go to work tonight to move all the Christmas shit out of his department. He’ll be back sometime in the wee hours of the morning. Poor guy, he’s been up since about 7am and probably won’t get in until about 4am.

Friday *and* a day off? It’s a Festivus miracle!

Ah… sleep is wonderful. I slept until about 10am, which is a great feeling after 3 days this week of getting up at 4am.

On a good note, we got all the shopping done last night. We bought wrapping paper and gift bags and tissue paper and a couple of gifts for people who weren’t getting crafted things. We also bought some small gifts for each other: red hair dye and a pair of Hello Kitty tree ornaments for me and a Tragically Hip CD for Eddie, and The Brothers Grimm DVD for both of us. Don’t ask me where my sudden and unexplainable facination with Hello Kitty has come from lately. I need to finish the afghans today and tomorrow; I’ll probably do a lot of the crochet while I wait for my dye to set. We’re going to Mom’s house tomorrow for dinner and because I need to bake a cake.

sleeping in, school, and gifts.

I’ve been up since about 10am. It was nice to sleep late after being up at 4am, which is especially good because I’ve got to drive Eddie in for 5am tomorrow and Thursday as well. I was having some very weird dreams involving my high school boyfriend, dreams in which we had a long discussion on what sex was like between us, and how he came this close to getting me off one day. Out of all my exes, he’s my favorite, and probably the only one I could actually meet up with for drinks and get a good laugh out of our past, whereas all the others I’d probably end up wanting to hit with a beer bottle.

Tomorrow I start the next course: Theraputic Response III. Those of you who read frequently might notice that I haven’t had TR-I or TR-II yet, but due to the fact that there’s 3 classes with different graduation dates being taught between only 2 teachers, and the last class to come in hasn’t had 2 of their required courses to move forward yet, my group (5 of us) is being put with the 1st group (4 people) to do TR-III while the other group (5 or 6 people) goes and finishes their classes, and from there I assume that everything will get all fucked up until someone pulls their head out of their ass long enough to see the need for a third teacher for the pharm.tech courses, especially since there’s going to be some more students starting in January (I think), who are going to need to take their 4 required courses.

I really need to clean off my desk today. The soda bottles are encroaching on the keyboard’s territory. I also plan on finishing up the left-over BBQ pulled-pork that we had for dinner on Sunday night, because it’s in the kitchen just calling to me. I was going to buy some presents for Eddie today, but I think we’ll hold off until after Christmas, because nothing he gets from his wishlist will get here in time, and I can’t think of anything to buy him locally. I do need to shower, because my hair has decided to whirl itself into some completely fucked up style.
