I’m up and awake. I’m in jammies and have the music playing at a slightly loud (but not too loud) volume. The cat it sitting in a loaf-shape by my chair, and it’s not too hot at the moment. It’s a perfect Sunday morning, in my opinion.
Last week went by very, very slowly. Work was slow at times, but the times when it wouldn’t have mattered, such as the two days we were short a tech, were not slow at all. We only had a few losers in, such as the guy who wanted to buy 30 of our giant syringes (I’m sorry, but we all know that you’re not buying those 3cc 1½”x22g needles for your diabetic grandmother), then bitched because we charge more than the RI stores do for them.
We spent yesterday playing non-WoW video games. I was playing The Sims 2 and Eddie had Zoo Tycoon. Within an hour of moving my family into the house I’d made someone had burnt the kitchen down, one of my mother’s cats had run away, and the police showed up to take away the remaining pets.
I’ve got no plans for today other than trying to “un-bork” the guild website, which seems to have spontaneously decided to go haywire for no good reason. Eddie claims I’m going to nothing but play Sims, but I’ve got to prove him wrong. With any luck I won’t need to completely reinstall things, because I’d really hate to lose all the forum postings and that sort of shit, but if that’s what needs to happen I’ll do it. I won’t be happy about it though.

Listening to: Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Killing The Blues
The cupcakes for the WoW party today look pretty yummy. I can’t wait to eat one. I’m fairly certain that they’ll all be gone when we leave Wil’s house. There’s going to be grilling and much geekery to be had this afternoon. The only completely sucky thing is that Wil, the guild leader, is going to be quitting the game at the end of this month and so there’s supposed to be a vote for who gets to be the new leader. There’s really only 2 or 3 people who I can foresee taking up the reins, and 1 of them will completely drive the guild into the ground if he gets it because while he’s a nice enough guy he’s way more hardcore than what the guild was meant for. We’re a casual bunch of people, and I predict a lot of issues with him wanting the group to be more into raiding than we are. Oh well.
I dyed my hair red this morning. With any luck it will actually stay red and not lose all of its pretty color over the next week. I’m not sure where the animals are hiding today, but there was quite the rumble between them in the living room this morning. Chaucer actually cried and ran away from Pickle because I think she nipped him somewhere.
We got the new yesterday that when our lease is up this summer we’ll be able to move into Nanny’s half of the house, essentially the basement of Mom’s. It’s got a huge bedroom and kitchen and a teeny-tiny bathroom, but rent will be cheaper than here and Mom and Brian can use the help. The bathroom down there is too small for Eddie to stand up in and is actually smaller than most closets so we’ll be using the upstairs shower instead of the one that would be ours, but again, it’s cheaper and we’ll be pretty much guaranteed a hot meal every night, right?

It’s another fun-filled afternoon at Casa McBride. We slept in a little bit, loaded and unloaded the dishwasher, and had a positively orgasmic lunch of grilled cheese sandwiches made with pepper-jack cheese and tomato soup to go with them. We picked up some food for dinner and dealt with the two old ladies working the register at Stop & Shop.
After lunch we logged into WoW for a little while for an instance run, only to discover that the person who had invited us to it was nowhere to be found. However, since we’re no longer the lowbies of the guild we were able to get enough guildies together to make an attempt at it, getting two quests completed and upgrading a couple of pieces of gear in the process. It’s nice being at level 70 because now Eddie and I can do our own things without worrying about one of us getting ahead of the other one. The only thing we’ve got to figure out is a way for us to both be logged into Ventrilo with out headsets and both of us be able to listen to music, since when I’ve got iTunes running with Vent only I can hear the music.
