Eddie’s alarm clock went off at around 5:45 this morning, sending me out of bed and into the bathroom to find some clothes and quickly review for this exam. I checked emails and checked out my normal reads and was out of the house by 6:45am, on my way to RIC to find my exam. The exam itself sucked. It was very, very bad. Everyone gets one of like 5 different versions of the test to eliminate cheating, and I guess that I got the test that dealt with compounding medications, something that we neither went over in classes nor do in the store. I think that I had about 15-20 questions on compointing ointments and liquids, and another bunch of them that dealt with IV setups that are the same deal - don’t do them, never learned how. If I pass on this first attempt, it’ll be just barely passing and a miracle.
When I got home, I checked emails again and we went out to Providence Place with the intention of getting some lunch and then a movie. Of course, none of the movies we wanted to see were on within the same timeframe that we were there - everything had either just started right before we got there or 3 hours later. We grabbed lunch at Johnny Rockets and walked through the stores we like, and after an hour or so I started to get bored and we left, heading up to Attleboro and Best Buy, where we picked up a copy of The Aristocrats. We looked through some PS2 games, hoping to find something we’d both like to play together, but Eddie likes racing games, and I prefer fighting games and RPGs, so I gave up on that. On the way home we went to the package store and picked up some booze. I was in the mood for some peppermint schnapps and was busily comparing proof on some of the ones I wanted when Eddie reminded me that I’ve got to work tomorrow and probably shouldn’t be drinking the hard shit.
Our plans for the drive-in were cancelled due to shitty weather, and our plans are to drink our hooch and eat burritos and watch our movie. Perhaps there will be some drunken sex at some point. Yum. Tomorrow it’s back to work, and then to Mom’s for dinner.
My assortment of dreams from last night included:
- working at a Colibri-like factory in the woods, and getting lost in those woods trying to quit one afternoon
- having a blow-out on George Washington Hwy. on the way to class, but still owning my first car (an ‘85 Mercury Marquis)
- Comrade replacing the back door with some big stained glass/fancy wood thing that didn’t match the house at all, telling us we could live rent-free for a month, and then trying to force himself into the house to find holes to patch in the ceiling
These are the things that you dream about when you’re completely exhausted.
Now if you excuse me, I’ve got to round up the ferret and put her back into the cage because I’ve got a midterm to fail.
I took my Theraputic Repsponse to Medicine III final today. We started at 8am, and I finished up in about 35 minutes. Then I sat and waited for Matt’s exam to get corrected first before mine could get corrected, and got home around 9:30am. I got a 98% on the exam, and 100% for the whole 9-day course. As Eddie would say, “Rock on.”
I’ve done very little since then. I watched the Martha Stewart show, and got a good laugh out of some guy standing in his newly decorated bedroom and saying “Martha Stewart is in my room and fluffing my pillows” while Martha made his bed. I talked with a woman from unemployment, and let the ferret out to play. I replied to a few emails that were neglected this week during the brief foray into Lineage II.
I did some more work on my tutorials for the Kiwi, which is a good thing because shortly after I posted something on the forums, the forums decided to turn themselves inside-out, which means that I’m the front line of support for a little while.
I started another amigurumi animal today. I’m not sure what he’ll be, since I’m torn between making a cat or a dog. I’ve got a much tinier one, also of unknown animal famil, in my bookbag, just waiting for me to make some ears and limbs for him.
I think we’re having fajitas tonight. My spicey-senses are tingling and I want my ass to burn tomorrow. Tonight is also going to be one of those nights where we get to complain about the lack of Tivo in the house, since both CSI and Eddie’s NBC commedies are on at 9pm, and one of us will be watching in the bedroom.
We didn’t get snow. we had maybe an inch if you measured in a spot where the flakes piled up. We woke up and the roads were clear and there was nothing to really clean on the car. So with heavy hearts, Eddie and I went to work and class.
I took my final exam for Ethics this morning. She gave us about 30 minutes to study when we got into class, and then told us we could leave when we finished. I ended up getting home just after 9am, which is nice. I can lounge around in jammies and snuggle on the couch to crochet. Tomorrow I start keyboarding, which should be interesting, to say the least. I can type without looking at the keys, it’s just that I don’t stick my hands on the homekeys like I’m supposed to. That was the same problem that I had in keyboarding when I was in high school.
I really need to get some pictures of the blanket I’m working on, because I really like how it’s turning out. I’m about half-done with it right now, so it’s really just a jumble of granny-squares in a roasting pan right now. At least today I’ve have the entire day to work on things, which isn’t bad - although I’m not looking forward to working on the last rows for the 24 small squares. I’ve also found the pattern that I’d like to do for my grandmother, if I can get this one finished in time. If I’m not finished, I think I could get away with making it half-sized, giving it to her like that, and then finishing it up after the holidays. I’ll pick the yarn up today - it doesn’t call for that much, just 3 colors, and 1 ball each. Once I’m done with the two I’m working on, I’d love to try out this one.
Pickle is sound asleep, which is good because it means that I don’t need to worry about getting up every 4 minutes to pry her off the inside of my desk (she climbs up the side), pull her off the curtains or out of the window and get her off the gate leading into Eddie’s room. She’s driving me insane; last night I was crocheting and I could do maybe 3 stitches before I’d have to get off the couch and stop her from getting into trouble.
Another midterm? Yep. This one might actually challenge me.
