What a good Saturday. I spent some time alone in the house, played with the feret, some FFXI, chatted. Eddie came home at 9:30pm and showered, screwed me senseless, and took me to Bickford’s for dinner.
Tomorrow is Easter, and we’ll be gorgin ourselves on ham and Cadbury eggs.
It’s a yummy weekend, to say the least.
The Passion of the Christ: Benny Hill-style. Violence, gore, and everything that makes Christianity fun, all set to the tune of Yakety Sax. (quicktime)
Started off the day with several extended coughing fits. Eddie, always worrying about me, turned around to ask if I was ok just in time to see my shoot a spectacular wad of phlegm through my clenched fist (I was covering my mouth while coughing, as usual). I took several medications, which caused a bit of a dizzy, carsick feeling when I stook up to fast when we were getting ready to leave, and then we headed out to Mom’s house.
At Mom’s I made a frozen chocolate pie. It was perhaps one of the easiest things I’ve ever made.
Ingrediants:
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 package instant chocolate pudding
- 1 pint chocolate ice cream
- 1 pie crust (we used a chocolate graham cracker crust)
Mix pudding and milk in a bowl. Add ice cream and milk with electric beater on lowest setting. Spread into crust and stick in the freezer until ready to serve.
It turned out really really yummy. We ate the typical ham and potatos and stuff, and discussed selling Eddie’s toenail on ebay as the “Holy Toenail”, claiming that the Virgin Mary is in it. I didn’t take any pictures this year. I did get a plastic egg full of chocolates and a stuffed lamb, which is now sitting on my desk and has been named “Lambikins” because it was the first thing that I thought of when Eddie asked what I was going to name it (I’m a dork who names all her plushies)
We ordered a pizza for dinner, which should be getting here soon. We’re getting hungry.
I’ll probably end up going to the doctor’s this week. I’ll have to charge my phone so that I can make an appointment with the good doctor and switch my insurance so they don’t give me a hassle about who my primary physician is.
Yesterday was nice. We drove down to Warwick and checked out the new shop. I liked her old shop better - the atmosphere was less “club-like”. This shop is sort of like Hot Topic, on a much lower budget, with a bookshelf full of pagan books. Granted, they’ve got a nice selection of books on all sorts of pagan-related topics.
Then we headed out to another pagan shop about a mile away. I like that one better - it’s quieter, and cozier. And they’ve got cats. They’ve got a couple of workshops that I’d like to sign up for if I had the cash. Maybe one we get me settled in the new job and get some extra spending cash I’ll sign up for one of them. After hanging around in there for a while, we headed into Cranston to see the new location of one of our favorite store. They’re closing down they’re mall store, since the mall is dead anyway. The new place is much bigger and in a really busy plaza, so they should be fine.
We decided not to head down to Mom’s to do laundry yesterday, instead choosing to sit around the house and play games. We stopped at the store to buy some food for dinner, and headed back home. And now we’re hanging around…. I’m hanging out on the mud, and Eddie’s watching Tremors.
