By popular demand, a picture of my lovely red hair (and another view of it). What you can’t see are my red-tinted hands from touching it this morning. No comments on how red it is from anyone at work, but then again I don’t think it’s quite as bright under the lights at work as it is out in the daylight.
Eddie’s anniversary present got here this morning. He ran outside in a towel to get it, opened it, and my god, if you ever want to hear a 29-year old man squeal with delight, buy him an original Nintendo Entertainment System. He didn’t even bother putting clothes on, he just ran into the living room completely naked and proceeded to pull everything out of the box and set it up. I ended up getting him a complete system (game system, 2 controllers, gun, and the Super Mario/Duck Hunt cartridge) plus a Legend of Zelda gold cartridge. The gun wasn’t shipped with the rest of the stuff, but is on the way. I think I’m officially the coolest geek-wife ever.
I should eat. Before Eddie left for work, the last thing he told me was “don’t forget to eat something.” That was about 6 hours ago. I haven’t eaten yet, but I did have a 2nd cup of coffee.
We actually have money in the bank at the moment. And I’m not just talking about $15 or so. Eddie got paid for Memorial Day, so we got a much larger chunk of paycheck than usual. Plus, I get paid tomorrow, and hopefully will be able to get some bills paid off this week, and buy yarn for the afghan I need to get started on. With any luck, my direct deposit will kick in this week.
I work until 6pm today - my only day not working until closing this week due to a schedule change. Then I race down to Warwick, pick up Eddie, and we drive back up this way and get some food for dinner. I’m thinking pizza - my post from yesterday has me craving some. Whether or not we make it ourselves or grab it at Pizza Hut is up in the air - either way it’ll be about $20.
I need to dye my hair again. I’m giving some serious thought to doing the candy-apple red again. The lead RPh doesn’t seem to have any problem with it - “It’s company colors, afterall,” she said - but the actual store manager didn’t seem impressed when I brought it up the other night. I think he thought I was talking about bright Bozo-red though.
It looks like the red dye will need to be postponed until my scalp goes back to normal - apparently the bleaching decided to leave me spotted with tiny little blisters here and there even though it didn’t tingle/burn any more than it usually does, and I don’t know if I want to dye over those (even if the red doesn’t have any peroxide sort of stuff in it).
I can say that I will never buy anything under the Ultress line, that’s for sure.
I have just slathered my head in what can only be called the bestest purple color ever. I’m in heaven, and I can’t wait for the next 4 hours to fly by so I can rinse it.
After 4 hours of dye yesterday I managed to get a nice shade of purple. It’s still bluish on the top, but there’s several shades of purple in there and it just looks really nice. It’s a shame that I probably won’t be able to duplicate it when I re-dye it in a month.
After his nap yesterday, Eddie felt a lot better. He ended up wanting to get KFC for dinner, so we headed out at about 5pm or so to get some food, then spent the rest of the night playing FFXI. At about 8pm we noticed it had started snowing, so Eddie called the police to find out if there was a parking ban (there was) and moved the car into the driveway. He left this morning a few minutes early. I know this because Skittles spent the night in the bedroom and woke me up scratching and thumping his foot on the cage floor. Then I went back to sleep, waking up at about 9am after some really messed up dreams that I can’t remember right now.
We went to the pet store on Saturday and saw the most adorable little ferret there. He was about half the size of Skit and still had his fuzzy baby fur. He bit our fingers. We’ve decided that if we ever want to get another one we’ll adopt one who is already trained not to nip, but that’s not going to happen until we move.
This afternoon I’m going to enjoy my day off, fish myself a grilled cheese or 2, and play FFXI and level up my BLM a bit more. Maybe I’ll even find some cheap spells up on the auction block.
And just because I’m catching footage for the first time since Sunday night, let me just say that Sean Penn is looking old, and getting ugly.
