The weekend was nice and relaxing. Any weekend where we can stay in bed an extra hour or three and hang out in the living room playing WoW all afternoon is a good weekend in my book. We crawled out of bed at about 9am and drank coffee and played a bit of WoW, finally making it to level 37. I broke the 300 gold mark on my character, which makes me quite happy; I’m all set in 3 levels to buy my mount and then keep saving for gear, skills, and other assorted neccessities in the game. Like another pet slot so that I can tame a giraffe. I’m also in dire need of another bank slot because I’m a freaking pack rat with a bankful of things that I can’t use at all right now, but might be able to get use out of later. Another thing that I can’t wait to do is hit level 40 and do my crafting quest.
We went to the drive-in on Saturday night. We left the house and drove up to Cumberland to get big sandwiches, cash, and some snacks. We brought lawn chairs to sit in, but ended up just folding down the back seats of the truck and curling up in the back with pillows and a blanket. It was super comfy, which completely made up for the fact that Spiderman 3 bit the big one. It was way too long, drawn out, and I’m sorry, but I’d could have done without the wrestling with the personal demons thought the whole thing. None of the villains were very good, and the Gwen character was really, really pointless. And what Spiderman movie would be completely without Kirsten Dunst dangling from the air? They may as well just start titling the rest of the series Mary Jane vs. Gravity 4. The second half of the double feature was Ghostrider, which we left 45 minutes into because we’d seen it before, and it wasn’t much better on the big screen (we’d already seen a pirated copy on DVD).
Yesterday we went to Mom’s house. I had hot wings for lunch, read my book, and then picked up Eddie from work. We rented Deja Vu over there which was sooooo much better than everything else we’d seen over the weekend. Today we both worked, and we were both busy, so we’re eating sausage sandwiches for dinner and then going into the bedroom to watch TV for the rest of the night like the lazy slobs we are
Wednesdays are my midweek day off from now on, and when I went to bed last night I was envisioning a full day of nothing but FFXI. Instead, I ended up pondering a new site design. I’ve been awake since about 7:30am, and what have I done?
- started working on graphics for new page layout
- amused the ferret
- showered with Eddie
- finished graphics and started wirking on the CSS part of new page, which was an utter bitch
- finished CSS and uploaded to Saidshe to and went live
- tweaked the fuck out of the menu in an attempt to get things lined up and functioning and displaying the way I wanted
- stopped fucking around with the menu long enough to post this
I’m quite proud of myself for this theme. It’s based off of someone else’s, which was also based on someone else’s theme, which I guess makes mine a 3rd generation layout. However, aside from some assorted Photoshop brushes that I downloaded ages ago from someplace I can’t remember anymore, I made the graphics myself, and there’s an assload of CSS changes. Nothing special, but I thought it was something cheery for the start of summer.
Tomorrow is Eddie’s birthday, and I’ve got no idea what to get him. That makes me sad. What’s also sad is that we want to go to the drive-in this weekend, but it’s not looking like it’s going to be a nice weekend, which sucks because I was really hoping to see X3.
And now that I’ve got all the designing out of my system for the time being, I’m going to go find myself something to eat.
Ah, Friday, how I love thee.
We were exhausted last night. Eddie came into the bedroom to find me curled up under the covers. He was expecting to get a little something, but I didn’t want to do it so tired. I can’t enjoy it that way, and I knew he was tired too and I always feel like I’m forcing him into some horrible chore when he’s tired and I want sex. So I told him no, and we fell asleep all cuddled up.
I got to sleep in this morning. I was up when Eddie’s alarm went off, and waited for him to get out of bed before I got up and used the bathoom. Then I went back to sleep until about 8:30am.
We picked up our Journey tickets last night. From the looks of things, we’ve got floor seats, which didn’t surprise me too much. The last time we won tickets, we had pretty good seats. Speaking of music, I’ve become completely and utterly addicted to the VH-1 classic channel.
Eddie and I are going on a date tomorrow. I’ve been wanting to see Charley and the Chocolate Factory since it came out, but knowing how much it’s considered a children’s movie I’ve been hesitant to go to even a late showing of it since no matter what time we’d go the place would be filled with ghetto rats, 14 year old Johnny Depp fangirls, and people who seem to think that bringing a fussy baby to a 10pm show is a smart idea. So we’re following a suggestion found on another site and heading to the drive-in. $17 will get us a double feature of Charlie and Bad News Bears, which is cool because it’s about $2 cheaper than tickets to just 1 show at the other theaters. We’re going to grab some dinner and enjoy the movie.
