A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

Runner

Crochet
I’m not sure who in the family crocheted this small table runner, if it was even family at all, but it’s fantastic. It matches the bedroom, and fits beyond perfectly atop the antique dresser. I’m not sure if it’s just a miraculous coincidence or if it was made specifically for that dresser, but I found it in the very bottom junk drawer (hidden among a tiny patchwork wall-hanging and 2 or 3 cross-stitched table runners and one very nasty piece of purple cloth) while I was installing the kitchen knobs and I’ve claimed it for myself.

The tiny little vase in the background has sat atop a dresser in my grandmother’s house since forever. It currently holds some tweezers, but I’d love to find a way to pot a tiny violet in it or something.

A Nightelf Mohawk

Hat

Last night I dreamt I beheaded a guy with a window…

My husband is the greatest. As we were walking out of Walmart this afternoon, he handed me a big, mushy-lovey card, and when we got out to the car he handed me another present - the Rent DVD. He also volunteered to watch it with me tonight if I wanted (we’re going to bring it to Mom’s and watch it on Saturday, just for the amusement of Brian complaining about it being a “fag movie”, just like he did with Troy).

We stopped on the way home and picked up $30 worth of food for dinner this week. Tonight Eddie is making pork chops and scalloped potatos, and tomorrow I make tacos. Later this week we’ll have Hamburger Helper.

We noticed that Pickle’s fur is changing color a bit. She’s been shedding like made for the last couple of months, and she’s got a load of fluffy new undercoat and cinnamon fur coming in on her shoulders. It will be interesting to see what she looks like in another couple of months when everything comes in.

I bought some new yarn for the llama today. The eyelash stuff I was using was turning out terrible, so I picked up some other stuff that is fuzzier rather than stringy, and while it’s not as furry as I’d like, it’s better then it was. If I need to, I can fur things up a bit once it’s done with some of the other stuff I have here.

Recent happenings….

Midterm score: 95%
Test score from this morning: 96%
We didn’t do much today aside from the test. The first part of the day was devoted to the test and a discussion over what could and could not be considered a lifestyle drug (ie. something not needed to be healthy) and whether or not insurance companies should cover certain ones, arguing about whether it was more cost-effective for the company to cover a prescription of Viagra, or run the risk of a man becoming depressed over the problem and then needing to cover the cost of therapy. Interesting. After break we worked on our resumes.

Current amigurumi project: Top secret *grin*
Seriously, it’s secret, and outside of maybe 2 people who would be familiar what it actually is, I’m not posting pictures until it’s completely finished, because I’m just that thrilled with how it’s turning out.

Random: Tomorrow is Survivor night, and as usual it is our night to pick our top 4 players and see who can go the furthest. I picked a winner a couple of years ago, so let’s see if it can happen again.

I was clipping Pickle’s nails and a claw flew into my eye. I don’t know if it came out or not, but my eye is fucking itchy as hell now.

I <3 Fridays

On a monthly basis, I pay $50 more for tuition than I do for our fucking rent, and what’d we do today? We watched Osmosis Jones. That’s all we did. The first half of the day we finished homework, and those of us who had already finished it (most of us) surfed the net. My last 15 minutes of class were spent explaining to Crystal who Gerardo is/was and why she couldn’t find the lyrics to his songs by searching for a musician named Rico Suave.

Tonight we’re going food shopping to get some stuff to tide us over for the next week. I’m hoping to not blow a wad of cash while we’re there, since we need to put it aside for rent and shit which is due in a week or so. Last night’s pizza was horrible. We think that they’ve changed sauces because it’s literally like they replaced their regular sauce with salsa.

In crafty news, I spent last night working on the monkey, and all he’s needing right now is eyes. I’ve got a second one that needs to be stuffed and assembled this weekend, and I’ll probably enlist Eddie’s help with that because I honestly hate stuffing the fuckers. I’ve also got a pair of amigurumi kittens that need to be stuffed and assembled for Monday, providing that Mom doesn’t see them and steal them.
