A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

Randomness

Here is a random bunch of small paragraphs that have nothing to do with each other.

I decided tonight that I’m going back on my pills. Obviously I can’t be trusted to be sane while off of them, otherwise I pull my hair out and cut myself like an angsty emo kid. Bring on the tight jeans and the Dashboard Confessional CDs; I’ll dye my hair black and slick my bangs into my face.

The new computer is running swell. At the moment I’m downloading some stuff and trying to configure things the way I like them. Not included in the downloads is any sort of instant messenger program or cam program. I’m going all antisocial, baby.

Saturday Eddie and I are going out and about. I know that we’re hitting the Arcade because neither of us has ever been, and then the evening is up in the air. Sunday we’re going to Mom’s house for dinner, where I’ll hopefully get to so some work on my crocheted skirt.

Death of a PC

My computer decided to kill itself yesterday. I’ve been unsuccessfully battling a virus for a few months now and had just gotten to the point of ignoring it until it became a complete resource hog over the last week or so, and after several attempts to remove it even after 3 complete system restores yesterday the computer just won’t even boot up at this point. It just sits there perfectly content to be a paperweight next to my desk. It sucks because now I’ve lost all the images I’d had in the hard drive as well as a lot of software that I use a lot. Fortunately the music will be restored once I sync the iPod to whatever new machine I get, as well as probably half of the images.

Our neighbors have a puppy. I’m thinking of taking bets in the building about how long it will take before either they get a note on their door telling them to get rid of it (dogs are strictly forbidden according to the lease) or they’re evicted. From what I can tell they lock it in the bathroom when they’re not at home because I could hear it crying and barking and crying while I was in our bathroom this morning, and Eddie saw it tonight and says it’s a little brown thing.

Not how I wanted to spend the day.

It seems as though 99% of the bad shit on my computer has been removed. This makes me quite happy.

Unfortunately now WoW isn’t working for me, and I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that I’m going to be forced to reinstall the game from scratch. This does not make me happy at all.

And I still need to put the red dye in my hair.

Tell me why? I don’t like Mondays…

It’s the middle of the month, and we actually have some money. I’m going to toss an extra $50 towards both utilities and then put the extra in the savings account so we can start building up some cash for the deposit on the next place. I don’t want to live here any longer than we need to, but shit is just so expensive right now that we can’t afford to move out because even if we did have enough for the security deposit, the rents are higher than we can easily afford.

I took a break from playing FFXI at the beginning of the month, not really feeling the urge to log in even on the nights when I said that I was going to. I tried to log in earlier this week, but they were doing some maintanance and couldn’t get on so I held off and tried this morning, only to discover that my computer supposedly isn’t up to par and I can’t get in. Mind you, nothing has changed on my computer at all, so I’ve got no idea why it’s doing this. Oddly enough, I’m not all that upset about it. I have some good friends on FFXI, but I miss being able to play with Eddie and a lot of the people who made MMO gaming fun to me. Whether or not I pack up FFXI and switch to WoW (where everyone else is right now) is still up in the air; unless I decide to uninstall Poser and the 4gig of figures and textures I’ve got for that sort of thing, the two games can’t coexist on my computer. FFXI is currently sucking up about 16gig of space on the computer, leaving barely enough room for anything else.

Time to shower and get dressed. 8 hour of work and I’ll be back home, where I can continue to debate over video games.

Bringing Mondays to a new level of suck

By sitting here posting this, I’m just delaying the inevitable insanity that awaits at work, where two of the three computers are now down, with no forseeable fix in sight. What’s this mean?

For one thing, it’s Monday, so it’s going to be crazy to begin with.

It’s also going to be difficult for us two techs to actually enter any new prescriptions into the computer, because the RPh will be using it to process and verify things. That means two of us will essentially just be wandering around, trying unsuccessfully to get things done.

We’ll see how awful it is.
