A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

Fridays deserve booze.

I can home from a grueling night at work to find a little note on my desk that says “I *heart* Crystal McBride lots n lots!! xoxoxo.” It was just what I needed after working with a newbie pharmacist who had to double check everything. Not that double checking things is really bad, but there’s a line between being completely anal and being a productive member of the team. It made what would have been a completely slow and normal Friday night rushed and kept us backed up for the majority of the night. It didn’t help matters any that we had several doctors who prescribed things completely retardedly and one incredibly annoying woman who kept calling to find out if something was called in, filled, could be filled yet, or get directions to another store to pick something up over there. On the plus side, I caught a patient adding refills to a Vicodin prescription, and unlike most doctors who just say “fill it but don’t add the refills”, when we called to verify the refills this doctor said “don’t fill it at all.” Needless to say, the guy who dropped it off insisted that he didn’t change it, but the RPh told him to just pass it on that the next time someone could be facing jail time when they’re caught.

Thankfully Eddie had a lovely 6-pack of Mike’s hard cranberry waiting in the fridge, leaving me one very happy chicky when I got home.

If anyone watches the Tyra Banks Show, my cousin Michael Flynn was on it this morning. Yay for NY Jedi getting some national recognition, even if it was on a talk show with the topic “is geek the new hot?” I guess it’s better than one with the topic “Mom, I’m sleeping with your boyfriend and he’s better than Dad!”

We’re not entirely sure what we’re doing tomorrow while we have the whole day off. We might hit some garage sales, we might hit Thayer Street. We might just sit at home and play WoW and watch TV. I’ve got a couple of crochet things that I’m working on, so whatever we decide, we’ll end up keeping ourselves occupied.

Wednesday Rain

After almost a week of nice weather, it’s raining over here. It always rains on my days off, which shouldn’t really bother me because it’s not as though I go out and do anything in the sunshine to begin with.

A bunch of stuff happened recently. We lost our internet, which wasn’t cool at all since we couldn’t log in and play WoW. Around the same time chicky.net expired, and I made the decision not to renew it. My grandmother has made the switch from oral chemo to IV chemo, and we’re waiting and watching to see if this makes her less miserable. So far, in my opinion anyway, there isn’t much difference. Brian’s parents have come up from Florida for a visit, meaning that my mother’s house is both crowded and noisey until they’re gone. I imagine that my grandmother will be hiding in the basement for much of the next week or two. I may or may not be going with my mother and Brian’s mom to get a manicure in an effort to be an anchor of sanity for Mom.

Eddie and I dyed our hair this weekend. I made an attempt to both bleach out the bottom layers while dying the upper layers black, and failed dismally. Rinsing everything out simply deposited the black pigment back into the blonde areas, creating a strange non-blonde area that will need to be fixed this weekend. Pickle, eager to get into the action, jumped into the sink while I was applying the black and had to be forcibly removed, resulting in a black spot about the size of a quarter between her shoulder blades because I was wearing the gloves. Yes, I rinsed her off. Eddie’s hair is black as well, and looks pretty good.

Tonight we’re going to Dad’s house for dinner with that side of the family. Dad wasn’t around on Father’s day, so we’re going over tonight to give him his card and gifts.
