A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

Crafty Bitch.

grannysquareIt appears as though my monkeys will be back up for sale within the next couple of weeks. Hopefully I can get at least a couple done while still trying to finish Christmas-present afghans at the same time. I’ll probably work up a quick afghan for my grandmother rather than the more complicated (but much prettier) one that I wanted to do. The picture to the right is a shot of 1 block of the one I’m working on for my father - there’s 12 in all, using a total of 30 squares for the whole blanket.

And now, I’m going to go slather my head with some hair dye and do some more hooking for the rest of the night.

Sleep is good.

I’m this close to being done with the first afghan. I miscounted yesterday, and instead of having 3.5 panels to do, I actually had 4.5, but I did a bunch today and there’s only 2 rows left, so with any luck it should be done tomorrow night. Tomorrow when I pick up Eddie I’ll snag one last skein of the gorgeous verigated red I picked up yesterday so I can get going on the other afghan.

Mom cooked lasagna tonight. She makes the best. I told Eddie that he had to get out of the kitchen because she didn’t want him finding out the secret family recipe. He stoof in there and helped, then came out, waved the empty box in my face, and said “Some secret recipe! It’s printed on the back of every box!” After dinner we had Mom’s homemade ice cream cake, which was pretty good. There was much football and many hot wings (which I didn’t eat, because my stomach freaked out over a grilled cheese sandwich earlier), and a decent time was had by all.

It’s back to school for me tomorrow. I honestly don’t know how I managed to spend the entire summer doing absolutely nothing every single day, because at this point I can’t see myself not being in class in the morning. Plus, I completely forgot how much I enjoyed school and learning new shit. I don’t think we’ll be going over to Mom’s, I’ll just pick up Eddie at work and we’ll go home. I’ve got studying to do for my Dosage II final on Tuesday, and since I’ll probably be getting out early after the exam, I’ll come home, shoot the shit here for a little while and then go down to Mom’s to take them out to Garden City and the Post Office.

Tonight though, there will be sleep.

A pretty good crowd for a SaturdayTuesday

I’m quite bored right now. Eddie’s doing who-knows-what in his room (most likely still surfing Wikipedia or something), and I’m chatting and posting here. I’m also looking on ebay for origami paper to make some Christmas ornaments for people, because I don’t think I stand a chance in hell of finishing 5-6 afghans for people by Christmas. This doesn’t go over very well with Eddie who suggests making the smaller lap afghans, which I veto because I think they are quite possibly the most retarded things in the world and created solely by old women who don’t want to waste yarn but have too much to make a scarf, because the ornaments won’t be sturdy enough. On the other hand, unless money spontaneously starts shooting out of my ass and I start peeing liquid gold, we don’t have the money to buy people anything because of the monthly tuition payment that’s more than our rent (on top of the always overdo bills) so in my opinion paper ornaments will be just dandy for people. Like Eddie said, it’s the thought that counts, right?

My midterm yesterday went ok. I got an 88%, which is lower than I expected, but completely fine and an understandable score when you realize that most of the errors were really, really pathetic shit, like not multiplying before dividing and moving decimal points in the wrong direction. Of course, this afternoon everything properly sinks into my brain and the next exam will be better.

I want ice cream. Preferably something chocolate, or something that goes with hot fudge.

What a long day.

We got up hella early to meet Mom at Walmart for 8:30am. From there we followed her into Cranston to dig some holes at a preschool that was getting some new landscaping done, and it looks really good even without anything in bloom right now. Come springtime there will be a lot of flowers and it will look very nice. After we finished the flowers hit FedEx/Kinkos to mailed out the geisha monkey. Then we went to Petco and looked at their ferrets and their cat condos. Pickle won’t be getting a buddy or a climbing spot yet, since it’s almost rent time. I’m still keeping my eyes open on craigslist though. We picked up a poster frame at Micheals because they were 50% off and we got it for $17 rather than $34, and I snagged a few $1 spools of ribbon for assorted projects. After we grabbed lunch at Walt’s (mmm… roast beef and cheese) we went down to Mom’s house, where I spent the day taking pictures of Jazz and working on the afghan. I managed to finish almost 2 sections, which I’m pleased with, and it’s starting to actually look like the picture on the pattern. Danielle came over for a visit and dropped off some pictures, including my 10th grade school picture that I got into a heap of shit over with my dad because I wore a hat in it. there was also a video of me and my best friend Andrea doing the electric slide on her front lawn prior to our 9th grade semi formal, but we left that over at Mom’s.

The next few days I’ll be home, enjoying my days off before we go back to class. I plan on working on the afghan and trying to clean my desk off. I also want to make a hat out of a smaller batch of really fuzzy blue yarn.

But for now, we’re heading to the bedroom to watch the rest of the news and SNL, providing I can stay awake.
