A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

It’s almost spring!

Happy Solstice

Happy Yule to all my fellow Pagan-ish folks. For everyone else, enjoy the fact that after tonight, the days start getting longer again *grin*

I’ve been up for two hours now. Eddie had to go in for 5am again, and since we couldn’t figure out a way to get Nanny’s truck for a couple of days, I’m driving him in early. Thankfully I only need to do it today and tomorrow, since I’ve got Friday off. I’m gonna go shower and wake my ass up a bit and make my hair look normal.

I rebuke you!

Is it wrong of me to be extremely amused and yet saddened by the psycho-Christian Marguerite Perrin on Trading Spouses? First of all, if she applied to be on the show, she must have had some sort of clue about what the deal was, taking two very different mothers and swapping them for a few days. Granted, being from the Bible-belt, she probably doesn’t have any experience with any other religion other than her particular flavor of monotheism. However, the sheer insanity and downright ignorance of the woman amazed me. I can understand not believing in the same things that her host-family believes in, however, she displayed an ever-increasing amount of intolerance as the two episodes went on, climaxing with her “I’m a God-warrior!” fit when she returned home. The host family went out of their way to make her comfortable, saying grace, going to church, listening to her religious lectures on how they were all in dire need of being saved, and yet wouldn’t even listen to a single thing that the family tried to tell her about their own beliefs.

And then she had the nerve to tell the other mother that she was forced to do all this evil stuff because the husband was pushing all her buttons and getting her angrier and angrier until they all went to the church. I love how this particular breed of Christian (the psycho “save as many of the heathens as possible!” Bible-thumping fundies) can bend anything to suit their needs at that particular time. A guy asks how something that her God created could be evil, and suddenly he’s going hand in hand with the devil. When her eldest daughter gets knocked up at 14 (or however old she was) and nevermind that the daughter is having premarital sex and the kid is a fatherless bastard, we’re opening a dance studio.

Most amusing? Her cries of “They had a big star!” Egads, woman, the sun is a big star, is she afraid of that as well? Well that, and the shredding of the $50,000 check/letter, only to accept it after careful consideration.

Slow Week, Witchiness

So far this month has been sucking at work. I’ve sold 4 phones this month. Last month at this time I’d sold about 10, at least. Yesterday we had 8 stores open, and sold 6 phones. They plan on changing our hours in the near futures; we rarely sell anything in the mornings and sometimes get slammed at the end of the day, so they want to change our hours to 11am-8pm. I’m not overly thrilled with that, but if it means more sales and commissions, I’ll deal with it.

Except on Thursdays, because that’s Survivor night.

Did I mention that I bought a Halloween costume last week? I’m being a witch. Yes, I realize that’s a stretch for me, all things considered. Speaking of witches… driving home the other night I heard an ad for the 1st Annual RI Withes Ball. Now I’m for religious tolerance and all that SOTES stands for, but c’mon, $50 a ticket? That’s a bit pricey in my eyes. However, I’m quite happy that Herbal Magick is once again doing their Samhaim open circle. The last one we went to there was great, as was their one for Pagan Pride Day a few years ago.

happy easter if you celebrate it!

Yesterday was nice. We drove down to Warwick and checked out the new shop. I liked her old shop better - the atmosphere was less “club-like”. This shop is sort of like Hot Topic, on a much lower budget, with a bookshelf full of pagan books. Granted, they’ve got a nice selection of books on all sorts of pagan-related topics.

Then we headed out to another pagan shop about a mile away. I like that one better - it’s quieter, and cozier. And they’ve got cats. They’ve got a couple of workshops that I’d like to sign up for if I had the cash. Maybe one we get me settled in the new job and get some extra spending cash I’ll sign up for one of them. After hanging around in there for a while, we headed into Cranston to see the new location of one of our favorite store. They’re closing down they’re mall store, since the mall is dead anyway. The new place is much bigger and in a really busy plaza, so they should be fine.

We decided not to head down to Mom’s to do laundry yesterday, instead choosing to sit around the house and play games. We stopped at the store to buy some food for dinner, and headed back home. And now we’re hanging around…. I’m hanging out on the mud, and Eddie’s watching Tremors.
