First of all, I have an announcement - I passed my PTCB exam! I am now a nationally certified pharmacy tech! Woot!
We had an awesome day. We woke up early, drove downtown (twice) and went to immigration (twice) to get Eddie’s greencard renewed for another 10 years. We went twice because I’d taken one set of passport pictures out of my purse, and of course it was the ones we needed that got left at home. We were in and out within an hour, and so we drove up to North Providence and had a victory breakfast at Bickfords. I even ate a big breakfast, which I typically never do.
Then we came home, checked email, and took a two hour nap to make up for getting up so early.
We ended up crawling out of bed at around noon, puttered around the house for a little while. Eddie initiated some afternoon nookie, after which we checked the movie showtimes and ended up in Lincoln being the only two people in the theater watching Snakes on a Plane. We went in with no high hopes of it being anything spectacular, so we weren’t disappointed, but we were pleasantly surprised that it wan’t completely craptastic. After the movie, we drove across the parking lot with the expectation of going to Chili’s, but Eddie saw a game store, so we went in and checked to see if they had any NES games.
They did. Under the big sign that said “COLLECTABLES.”
Eddie ended up picking out Excitebike, Robocop, and Kung Fu. I’m willing to bet that when we left, we were the talk of the store.
“Did you see the old farts buying those big gray cartridges?”
“Dude, no one plays games on cartridges.”
Chili’s was yummy. Eddie’s arteries are screaming after a plate of chicken-fried steak, while I managed to eat about a third of my plate of shrimp and penne alfredo. Then we came home, where Eddie caressed and coaxed his NES to play its new games and we played WoW for a bit. We were just getting ready to logout when we ended up getting completely ganked by some dwarf, at which point we really logged out for the night.
Tomorrow Eddie has the day off, and I get to go back to work. Oh joy.
