A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

It’s been 5 years already?

I woke up this morning to the sound of Eddie singing. “Happy anniversary, happy anniversary. Happy anniversary, haaaaaaapy anniversary!” Once my brain got over the shock of being jolted out of sleep by a singing Canadian, it then registered that he was holding a massive and gorgeous bouquet of marbled red roses. And then I looked at the clock and saw that it was after 7, when Eddie’s supposed to be in work.

“Why aren’t you at work?”

“I took the day off.”

So now both of us have the day off, and we’re super happy. We went back to sleep after getting the roses squared away, and now it’s time for a shower and then we’re going to head out to grab lunch and catch a matinee or something.

Nothing Doing.

As is fitting for a day off, I’ve done absolutely nothing. Ok, maybe not absolutely nothing, but as damn near close to nothing as I possibly could. I slept until about 10am, then crawled out of bed to greet the icky day wearing nothing but my sweatshirt. I wanted coffee, but was too lazy to make some and didn’t want to waste phone minutes on a text message to Eddie asking if the coffee in the pot was from this morning or yesterday. I quickly logged into WoW to check out how some overnight auctions were going, happily adding to my stash of gold. I bleached my hair out and sat around as a blonde for a while, eating a bagel and watching the TV for a bit while my hair dried.

Eventually my hair was dry and I slathered myself in red dye, appropriately named Cherry Bomb. Then I sat down for a fun-filled afternoon of making little WoW characters with the model viewer program so that I could put up a new header on the guild’s website. Tonight I think I want to just curl up with Eddie in the bed and enjoy each other’s company. He’s in the kitchen making hotdogs and beans for dinner.

Conversation just now:
Eddie (behind me): Can I stick my weiner in your ear?
Me (seeing him come up behind with what appears to be a handful of his cock): Sure!
[I lean down and end up with an earful of cold hotdog]
Me: Ew!
Eddie: I asked if you wanted my weiner in your ear!
Me: I thought you meant your cock!

An Impromptu Date Day

First of all, I have an announcement - I passed my PTCB exam! I am now a nationally certified pharmacy tech! Woot!

We had an awesome day. We woke up early, drove downtown (twice) and went to immigration (twice) to get Eddie’s greencard renewed for another 10 years. We went twice because I’d taken one set of passport pictures out of my purse, and of course it was the ones we needed that got left at home. We were in and out within an hour, and so we drove up to North Providence and had a victory breakfast at Bickfords. I even ate a big breakfast, which I typically never do.

Then we came home, checked email, and took a two hour nap to make up for getting up so early.

We ended up crawling out of bed at around noon, puttered around the house for a little while. Eddie initiated some afternoon nookie, after which we checked the movie showtimes and ended up in Lincoln being the only two people in the theater watching Snakes on a Plane. We went in with no high hopes of it being anything spectacular, so we weren’t disappointed, but we were pleasantly surprised that it wan’t completely craptastic. After the movie, we drove across the parking lot with the expectation of going to Chili’s, but Eddie saw a game store, so we went in and checked to see if they had any NES games.

They did. Under the big sign that said “COLLECTABLES.”

Eddie ended up picking out Excitebike, Robocop, and Kung Fu. I’m willing to bet that when we left, we were the talk of the store.

“Did you see the old farts buying those big gray cartridges?”

“Dude, no one plays games on cartridges.”

Chili’s was yummy. Eddie’s arteries are screaming after a plate of chicken-fried steak, while I managed to eat about a third of my plate of shrimp and penne alfredo. Then we came home, where Eddie caressed and coaxed his NES to play its new games and we played WoW for a bit. We were just getting ready to logout when we ended up getting completely ganked by some dwarf, at which point we really logged out for the night.

Tomorrow Eddie has the day off, and I get to go back to work. Oh joy.

Red-Headed Geek-Wife

redheadBy popular demand, a picture of my lovely red hair (and another view of it). What you can’t see are my red-tinted hands from touching it this morning. No comments on how red it is from anyone at work, but then again I don’t think it’s quite as bright under the lights at work as it is out in the daylight.

Eddie’s anniversary present got here this morning. He ran outside in a towel to get it, opened it, and my god, if you ever want to hear a 29-year old man squeal with delight, buy him an original Nintendo Entertainment System. He didn’t even bother putting clothes on, he just ran into the living room completely naked and proceeded to pull everything out of the box and set it up. I ended up getting him a complete system (game system, 2 controllers, gun, and the Super Mario/Duck Hunt cartridge) plus a Legend of Zelda gold cartridge. The gun wasn’t shipped with the rest of the stuff, but is on the way. I think I’m officially the coolest geek-wife ever.

I should eat. Before Eddie left for work, the last thing he told me was “don’t forget to eat something.” That was about 6 hours ago. I haven’t eaten yet, but I did have a 2nd cup of coffee.

It’s Done!

Eddie’s anniversary presents have been purchased. Hopefully they end up getting here sometime next week, and hopefully he’ll like them.
