Let the Vacation Begin!

It’s Friday, and thus begins my vacation. I’m thrilled. I also got my annual review done, and I’m a lifesaver according to my boss. I’m wonderful.

I’ve also got an announcement of sorts to make. Today marks a fantastic anniversary for me: today is the 7th anniversary of having sex with Eddie for the first time. That means that as of today I have been fucking the same guy for 7 whole years. We’re talking actual sex, too, not that stuff that involves the phone or instant messenger.

This weekend we’ll be hitting a yard sale up the road, then going to the antique store, and then maybe to get some chicken wings from the local Chinese restaurant. Tonight we’re going to the movies to see Ironman with a couple of World of Warcraft guildies.

Please let me survive just one more day at work without going completely insane mere hours before my vacation starts. Make all the old people friendly and all the crazies amusing. That’s all I ask for. Pretty please?

Tuesday afternoon a girl comes up to the consultation area with a box of condoms. “Are these ok to use while pregnant?”

I did a mental facepalm thinking to myself, “Why? Why do they always get me?” before she clarified that she was worried about the spermacidal lube, at which point I was too busy trying to restrain my inner laughter over the pregnant girl worried about sperm and just called T, the pharmacist, over to answer her questions. T just told her that if she’s preggers, she doesn’t need to worry about having spermacide, to which the girl replaied, “Oh, I have a double uterus and the 2nd one could get pregnant.” We had a lot of fun with that one after she left, coming up with all sorts of scenarios that would make for wonderful Jerry Springer episodes.

It could be sunnier, however.

I’m up and awake. I’m in jammies and have the music playing at a slightly loud (but not too loud) volume. The cat it sitting in a loaf-shape by my chair, and it’s not too hot at the moment. It’s a perfect Sunday morning, in my opinion.

Last week went by very, very slowly. Work was slow at times, but the times when it wouldn’t have mattered, such as the two days we were short a tech, were not slow at all. We only had a few losers in, such as the guy who wanted to buy 30 of our giant syringes (I’m sorry, but we all know that you’re not buying those 3cc 1½”x22g needles for your diabetic grandmother), then bitched because we charge more than the RI stores do for them.

We spent yesterday playing non-World of Warcraft video games. I was playing The Sims 2 and Eddie had Zoo Tycoon. Within an hour of moving my family into the house I’d made someone had burnt the kitchen down, one of my mother’s cats had run away, and the police showed up to take away the remaining pets.

I’ve got no plans for today other than trying to “un-bork” the guild website, which seems to have spontaneously decided to go haywire for no good reason. Eddie claims I’m going to nothing but play Sims, but I’ve got to prove him wrong. With any luck I won’t need to completely reinstall things, because I’d really hate to lose all the forum postings and that sort of shit, but if that’s what needs to happen I’ll do it. I won’t be happy about it though.

I’m currently listening to my itunes and attending the monthly Messengers of Death guild meeting. Can you feel my enthusiasm? Yeah, it’s palpable, I know. I’m waiting for the guild leader to stop talking so that Eddie and I can log out and snuggle on the couch and watch TV.

Yesterday and today were both extremely dead at work. I took off early yesterday and today because there as just nothing to do at the store and there was no reason to sit around with 2 techs and a pharmacist only to have the 3 of us sitting on our asses looking unproductive as all hell. Tomorrow I’m doing my part as a contributing member of the team and going to the charity comedy night with Eddie, Mom, one of their coworkers, and one of the techs from the store. There’s gonna be a raffle filled with all sorts of donated things, which should be fun.
