The White Stuff
“How was your sleep?”
“I woke myself up at 4:51am by rubbing my face and pushing the stud out of my nose,” I replied.
“You had it easy then. I was dreaming about double-clutching the General Lee.. I don’t even know what double clutching is.”
I’m watching the snow come down. Little flakes compared to what they were earlier today, but it looks as though it’s going to be nothing but rain later tonight. There’s still a parking ban in effect for Pawtucket though, which means I’ll be leaving a note for the landlord so he’s not surprised to find a truck parked in the driveway when leaves in the morning. Not like we’ll be keeping it there all day tomorrow, since Eddie needs to work and I’ll probably just go down to Mom’s house and hang out there all day.
I’m hoping that the weather will keep people in their houses all afternoon and night so that work is slow and I can leave early. I hate just standing around all night and doing nothing. With any luck it will be dead and we can count the narcotics early. If it’s dead, I tend to do silly things; last Tuesday night it was slow and I wrote a ransom note and hid the “good” counting spatula before I left.
