Saturday we spent the night at Mom’s house. It was just way too hot to stay in the apartment without the a/c. We got the bedroom all set up with a rug and set up our chairs and the cage and my sewing area, played with the animals, and generally enjoyed ourselves. I attempted to sleep through the night and failed dismally, decided to go against the original plan of sleeping in a little bit while Eddie picked up the U-Haul because I figured that since I’d been up since 4am anyway, I may as well go back to the old place with him and help pack up the computers and stuff.

A piece of advice for everyone reading this. Don’t ever attempt to move in 96F heat. You’ll be miserable, and no amount of ice packs stuffed into your bra will make you feel any better.

But we did manage to get everything out of the apartment that needed to be moved, and now we’re all happily set up in the basement. Eddie has made a lot of progress with setting up the new house while I’ve been working this week. The kitchen is pretty clear, the living room is finished, the bedroom has a few assorted things that need to get put away (clothes! more clothes!), and the bathroom has been converted into another closet which is acting as a storage space for all of my craft things, with the added bonus of a toilet and sink inside it. I could, in theory, craft and crap at the same time.
