This post deserves a better subject.
The ferret is definitely enjoying having free run of the new place. This morning Pickle chased Chaucer all over the apartment. They went over furniture, onto and under the bed, there were attacks from above and ambushes from behind. And then finally Chaucer just laid down, put his ears back, and swatted Pickle. Eventually Pickle got tired and started doing her speedbump impression, so we put her back into her cage and gave the kitten a rest. Chaucer is getting big already. He’s put on some weight, which is awesome because he was all skinny when we got him.
Work has been crazy this past week. We’re in the middle of converting to a new rx system and new registers. It’s insane. Trying to convince the old people to use the little electronic screen to sign for their scripts rather than signing a little sticker for the log book is difficult. They don’t like the new phone system. I figure it will be a week or two before we start getting complaints about the labels being different.
Nanny is having good days and bad days. Her mind is going, most likely due to the cancer, she’s in pain, she sleepwalks; my mom is fortunate at this point that my aunt is up and helping to care for her, but she leaves in a couple of weeks so Mom isn’t entirely sure what will happen at that point. This weekend we’re having a big family gathering at Mom’s house, a clambake with a few lobsters and some fish and chicken for those who don’t like the clams.
