A Little About Me...

I'm just a 31 year old chick from Rhode Island, married to a Canadian, tattooed, childfree, and a World of Warcraft addict. I fancy myself a photographer, or an artist, but who am I kidding - I count pills and sell drugs to junkies.

Disclaimer

I write about everything. If you don't like it, if it's too personal, if you don't want to hear it, if it offends you, if it's about you, I don't care.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

GlassesSo, guess who needs glasses? Yeah, me. Sometime between 6th grade (when I had my last eye exam) and now, I went from being farsighted to nearsighted. So I picked out a cute little pair of Tina Fey-like cat’s eye frames and splurged on the transitional lenses. I’ve been given a clean bill of health in the eye department for the most part, having passed the “puff of air” glaucoma test and the colorblind tests, and my blood pressure was lower than usual at 109 over 66. I also discovered that the reason my eyes are always watering is because I’ve got dry-eye, so the nice doctor sent me home with 4 bottles of drops to use qid to see if that gets rid of the problem, and I go back in two weeks to get them checked out again and to see if the drops are helping.

I’m still covering a couple of extra hours every week. It’s going to be a complete bitch to find a tech willing to work only 2-3 days a week, so for the time being I’m extending my typical Tuesday short shift and working a full 8 hours (scoring an extra 3.5 hours) and covering a 3 hours stretch on Wednesdays because they need someone there to cover a 30 minute period where there’s no tech, and they can’t have me there working for less than 3 hours. The paychecks will be nice while they last.

Puke!According to Mom and Eddie, the pumpkins at her house were a huge hit. One little girl pulled the bottle out of the brawling pumpkin, but it was easily replaced. Eddie broke open about 20 glow sticks on the pumpkins and the cobweb covered shrub, and that was hella cool. They passed out a bunch of candy and still managed to have about 6 bags left over, and the tiny cans of Play-Doh pleased quite a few of them (”I got putty!” said one of them.).

I should go squirt my eyes, and maybe find some work appropriate clothes. I’m not sure what’s going on tonight, probably some fun in WoW. The guild cookout over the weekend just made me more anxious to get some better gear - everyone else’s is so much better than mine.

And y’all don’t know how happy I’ll be in a week, when I don’t need to see anymore mudslinging political campaign ads. Every other commercial is for a politician or some ballot question. Actually, I’d just be happy if I didn’t have to see Lincoln Chaffee’s stiff hand gestures that he tries to make look so casual.

I’ve had glasses since I was 3 years old and it took me until like high school to be comfortable in them but they weren’t as cute back then as they are now.

It’s definitely going to be different for me; like I told the girl who was helping to pick them out, I’ve never had to pick out glasses that you could see my eyes in. Luckily I can get another pair in January, because I lose my sunglasses like crazy and I just know these will get lost.
