I predicted the future!
I was right. It was so completely busy in work today. It was insane. In addition to everyone who didn’t put in their refil requests over the weekend, we had a fair share of what I’ll refer to as “frequent fliers” - the people who come in on a weekly basis for Vicodin and other assorted controlled drugs. And really, you’re not fooling anyone when you call up 5 days early for a refill of painkillers and use the excuse “I’m going away this weekend.”
Fun customer of the day - “Man” drops off 2 scripts, both narcotics, one of which has a 24-hour hold. I give him the estimated wait time of an hour, and he’s cool with coming back. At almost exactly an hour later, he’s back in the store, and I ring up his percocet: $220 worth. I run his check through the register, and wonder of wonders, the machine spits it out saying “denied”. We run it again for good measure, only to get the same message, and try to figure out why it’s denied, all while Man protests, “It’s good! You have to take it!” First of all, it’s a large amount. Add to that the low check number, and the out of state bank account, and you’ve got a recipe for denial. And no, we don’t “have to take it.” We don’t have to take anything. He ended up taking his scripts and going to the store down the road, but I’ve got no idea if they filled it for him or not.
Eddie’s making burgers for dinner tonight. Yum. I’m also going to start phase 1 of “operation dye job” tonight, so I’ll be a light brunette for the rest of the night after dinner. Eddie, naturally, will be watching hockey.
