School was pretty uneventful. I got up around the same time that Eddie was leaving the house, dressed, and proceeded to struggle into the wig and do my makeup. After everything was done, I headed off to school with one question on my mind: why the hell didn’t anyone ever tell me that fake lashes are positively AWESOME for chicks like me who have scrawny real lashes? Seriously, I may just pick up a decent set rather than recycling the cheap costume ones I picked up last week. I’m also totally loving my spur-of-the-moment purchase of a tube of Maybelline’s Shiny-licious in Apple Red, which looks just as super over the bright red that was gifted to me a couple of months ago as it does by itself.
My exam was pretty easy. I think I did the wrong page for the last part of my homework, which will positively suck, but knowing my teacher, he’ll give it back and give me a 2nd chance to fix it. The Halloween party was awful, with pretty much the entire school trying to cram themselves into the student lounge, which is about the size of my house, fighting for cake, cider, and doughnuts. There weren’t as many people dressed up as we were told were going to be, but those who did dress up did a damned good job. I did have to wonder what some of these people were thinking coming into school in outfits like this RuPaul lookalike, or the pair of girls who came in dressed as cats (braless under half-zipped hoodies with their backfat all hanging out of lowrider jeans), considering we were told that we couldn’t wear anything inappropriate. Probably one of the best outfits was one of the teachers who came in dressed as William Wallace, complete with kilt and blue face paint and a real fox hide slung over his shoulders, and one girl there had a really well done Catwoman costume. My friend Noelle ended up winning “best costume made by a mother” for dressing up with an awesome purple and black wig and black vinyl shirt and pants and a few fake piercings.
My grandmother got out of the hospital today. Eddie’s going to call Mom up to find out whether they need Nanny’s truck back right away or if we can keep it until the end of the week, which will be easier. Because Eddie has Nanny’s truck right now, I don’t need to drive down and pick him up tonight. No idea what we’re doing for dinner, but I hope it’s something good.
