God I love Fridays
We went from Walmart to the hospital to visit my grandmother. She’s doing much better now that they’ve got her on IV antibiotics and giving her breathing treatments and all the fun shit that goes along with pneumonia. Of course, what I really mean by “doing much better” is “hallucinating a split-screen projection of TV on the wall across from her bed”. Once we got a good laugh over it and how the images she was seeing really were moving and confirming that he wasn’t seeing some off reflection from something in the hallway, my mother went and told the nurse. This prompted Nanny to tell Mom that she wasn’t any fun at all. What makes this even funnier is that we’d been joking earlier in the afternoon that the medication that the doctor’s had put my grandfather on after he’d had a triple bypass caused him to see a herd of small children playing on the roof of the building across from his room and smoke streaming outside his window.
I’ve developed a reputation for being a decent tutor in class. I’ve been helping the girl who sits next to me figure out how to do your standard “solve for X” equations, since my teacher will go over 4 or 5 different ways, each one more convoluted than the last, and some stuff we had in the homework wasn’t gone over in depth during class. I’m also the one people go to when they want an origami crane or angel fish made. I find it insanely funny that class started two days ago on Wednesday, our “midterm” for this particular course is Monday, and we took our first test on the subject matter today (which I got another 100% on).
Tomorrow we get to sleep late, and I think we may be heading back down to the hospital to visit Nanny. We’re hoping she gets out tomorrow, but after today’s little episode it will probably be Sunday at the earliest. Eddie’s mom will be down on November 8th for about 10 days, which is cool.
