I love having days off in the beginning of the week - it gives me a chance to sleep late 4 days in a row.

Eddie had yesterday off, and we intended on playing FFXI all day, but ended up playing for about 2 or 3 hours and then going to Mom’s for dinner because it was Nanny’s birthday, and I spent some time in the morning making a FFXI-related Cafepress shop. When we got home he had me do some work on his homepage; he wanted a new graphic made, and I went a step further and changed the color as well.

Discovered that the certified letter that Eddie signed for last week was for a credit card I had a while ago, not my car. I’ll have to call them today and see what I can do to avoid the hassles of going to court.

Over the weekend some guy shot a Providence cop in the station with the cop’s own gun, smashed a 3rd story window, and then jumped out and ran off. He was charged with murder yesterday, and when they brought him into court he was wearing the standard Hannibal Lector-style hazmat faceshield because they were afraid of him being combative toward corrections officers and spitting in the courtroom. His family is in the courtroom and they start wailing about police brutality and yelling at the guy to plead not guilty. Um, the guy shot a cop in the police station with loads of other cops around as witnesses, is there any question about whther or not he’s guilty? And how can you expect a person to jump out of a 3rd floor window, run away from a station full of officers, resist arrest, and not receive some sort of injury? Not that I’m discounting the brutality angle. You can’t go into a station, shoot a cop, and expect to not get your ass beat, but I’m more willing to believe that whatever injuries he sustained were from the fall rather than the cops. Not only that, but no judge in this state would convict any cop for brutality against a suspect who shot one of their own.
