Tonight is just flying by! Not sure what it is, but it’s been soooo slow in here tonight. Maybe that’s because people are getting smart enough to know that THE BANK doesn’t want them to call us. The United Way people were here tonight, trying to get everyone to sign up to make donations out of their paychecks, and pointing out that they have an extensive list of organizations that we could choose from. Of course, being the nice person that I am, I look at the list, decide I can afford $20/month, and think to myself, “Self, who should I give my money to?”Looking over the list, I pick out one of the charities to give $10/month to, the RI Sexual Assault and Trauma Center. However, one of my other pet charities isn’t listed. Then I notice that on the pledge form there’s a spot to write your own organization. And voila, another $10/month out of my check is promptly going to be whisked away to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. And thus I have sealed my fate as a “good person”. At least for today.
